Most of these were taken a couple weeks ago, except the grill shot's. I took those about 20 minutes ago. The grill idea is one of my favorite thing's on the car. I had to modify the side pieces a little before i had it all rechromed.. I just got it all back from the chrome shop thursday.. I was having a hard time visualizing what i wanted, so i asked my bro in law (Dat Dirty Rat).I told him what i was thinking.. He mentioned the 57 signal bar..and i'm glad he did. Thanks man! Anyway, here's the pics.. Now i'm headed back out to work on it....i need to finish up my windshield template. Thats going to get done this week i hope. And yeah, the bumper's look like ****..I need to get some cash together to get them chromed too... Tony
****in a, that's ***s. it really does look good. congrats on the results thus far. the grill is a cool idea.
That is sharp as hell! I was thumbing through an old issue of street rod and seen a 57 bar in an early chevy too. His was on a bar grille though. Are you gonna leave yours floating? Good work man.
Just stopped back in for some refreshment's .. Yeah, i'm going to leave it floating. When i first mocked it up, i had thought about using some mesh behind it..but i like thing's simple and clean and just thought a floater would be the look i was after. The mesh would have taken away from the look i was after. When i asked Dirty for his insight, i told him i wanted something very simple that would incorporate the signals. I initially was going to just ues more stock teeth on the 'OG' grill bar, but those would be the only items on the car trim wise that would be 'up and down'..it wouldn't match the overall picture in my eye's. Thanks guy's. Tuck, i left a message on your voice mail... I'm headed back out.
I think your right Jeff...this thing will NEVER see the dirt track! I'm a "goldchainer" in training i guess. Haha.. Thanks.
that thing is AWESOME.....makes me wanna run out and chop my 54 REAL BAD! hehe.keep up the good work creepy

Looks killer Tony, but if I may. I think the grille cavity would look better in flat black so the bar really looks like it's floating in space. But I've also seen many cars in the little books that had white accents.
Tony, this car just keeps getting better and better! WOW!!! What more can I say, other than I wish it was in my garage. John
Your probably right about it 'showing' more if it were black to be honest.. problem i would have now doing it black is there's no black anywhere in the engine compartment or the wheelwell's so doing that area would look out of place. No Rumble this year. We're supposed to be going to Syracuse again, the way thing's are going i'll be lucky to get it there. I'll probably end up taking something else.. That'll piss me off, i really want to take this.. but oh well.
Nice job Tony...that paint really sets the car off...and that car is *****in'!!! One thing tho, paint the grille cavity flat blak...the bar will appear to "float" then...Makes no difference if you don't have any blak elsewhere...yeah, yeah, I know, ya have to mask everything off again...but trust me, it's a look you want!!! I have an extra set of '57 Park light lenses if you need them... R-
Most of the people who have seen it dig the white, although i have a few who say black, like here. All the white in the engine compartement is powdercoat, not paint.. And i got a few bux tied up in that ****, so painting over it isn't something i really want to do. I'll go this year white and see how i like it at the end of the summer. If i change my mind, then next winter i'll pull it apart and change it. I know it's pretty bright, but in person it deffinately looks like the bar is floating. All the brackets are white along with just about everything else in that area (except the damn wire's going to the signal bar..but that'll change this week too), so you can't really see much holding the bar except the small upright's i made at each end that come off the splash pan. Thanks for the offer on the lenses, i appreciate that! The one's in it now are new so i'm all set . Thanks!! Tony
****in sick! I never would have thought the bar would look that good- look forward to seeing it in person...
