I'm not really sure the intent of the OP was to get everybody to post pictures of "their" fourdoors, or stuff from their files.....I've been wrong before, but wasn't the idea to ask what you guys thought were the BEST Fourdoor designs? I've had some fourdoors in my life because I needed a daily driver, but I'd never consider what I drove as great examples of automotive design, in fact, I'd almost always have a two door version of anything over a moredoor....Thrash on boys.....................
i think anything pre 1965 is a great example of automotive design (for the most part) whether it has 2 doors or 4 doors. Those who take pride in their 4 doors are ones that are in a crowd of their own....especially in the hot rod scene so I think everyone is a bit partial to the one's they own. I could honestly care less if a car has 2 doors vs. 4 doors and i never truly understood the big stink over the debate but we love ours and the people who see it seem to love it too. In the end; i guess that's all that truly matters. Our favorite (because it's much less popular) is our 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe.
Yep, those are both beautiful and rare,not as common as the Chevy version. Haven't seen one in years.
People are posting here mostly 4D HT's that try hard to look like 2D HT's. Me, I like truly 4D sedans, which look like big boats. 1949-51 Chevrolet fleetline was already posted, that's all time favorite. 1961-63 Chevrolet 4D line are all good looking. Tri-five chevys looks good as 4D model. Then my first choice are the end of 40's GM and Mopar fastback 4D sedans:
The Ford "Phaeton" has a much better looking roofline than the Chevy "Sport Sedan". The C-pillar looks just like the Victoria's. You wonder why Chevrolet couldn't do the same. -Dave
It was much harder than I thought it would be to find a good pic but the Aussie bodied 33/34 Sedan is a lot nicer looking than the U.S. version. I'm not saying this because I am an Aussie, they do have a nicer shape. They especially look good with a chop!! Doc.
I was begining to think i was the only one who thinks a '63-'64 impala looks good as a 4 door. you wouldnt believe how much **** we catch for buying them.
That's interesting, how much more space is given to the rear quarter window in this version. Here is a profile shot of a '33 w/ a 2.5" chop from So-Cal's website, and a black '34 Hupp using the Ford body. I gotta say, I like both of them, but prefer the smaller quarter window. Later, *****6
Isn't it funny how much flak a guy can catch for driving an undesireable old car? Most often from guys who drive a Silverado every day because their car is too precious to use up on the public roads. I like old cars. -Dave

As a kid I didn't like 'em,......but as the years have gone by, I've learned that "beauty" is something that is not limited to the things that only you love. Those are some beautiful automobiles,....thanks for sharing the photos.
I agree with Ramblur. The step down Hudsons are totally gorgeous. I also have a real soft spot for the 58 plymouth belvedere four door pillarless
With luxury makes unless you've got a convertible or personal luxury coupe, might as well go with the 4 door. Convertibles and suicide doors definitely have their appeal in a 4 door. Granted most have suicide doors, but a lot of the pre 50s cars unless you've got the coupe, might as well go 4 door sedan over 2 door sedan.
