I would like to buy the 56 Olds body shell from ls7gto here on the HAMB, the only problem is shipping. I don't suppose anybody out there is coming this way and could bring back the body? What's some other options without breaking the bank? I'm in no hurry, just can use alot of whats left to fix mine.

Ah, Yes, but unless Greyhound has a trailer, I doubt they could transport the whole body.

  4. A body is a tough thing to haul.
It is a static load, usually you can't move it around.
Difficult to tie down without breaking or bending sheet metal
    or fibergl***.

Have the Seller provide a footprint (length x width x height)
along with the weight and if it fastened to a pallet or skid
and if it is - can it be forked on and off a trailer ...

I can't think of one way that will be truly inexpensive. The least expensive would be to find someone coming west with an empty trailer who would haul it for gas money.

You can probably find a broker who can get it a ride on a flatbed trailer but the big rub is that it will have to be set on a pallet or skid and set on a trailer with a fork lift. That means paying someone to build a pallet that will hold it as you aren't there to come up with the materials to do it. Build the skid right and you might even be able to bolt the body shell to the skid and have room so that the trucker can run his tie down straps under the body to hold the skid rather than over the body.

I'd think you would want it on a pallet or skid anyhow to avoid damage.
