If it's a 2.88 the carrier may not be usable with better (e.g. 3.31) ring gears (at least without a spacer under it.) Not that rich, so I guess I'll just have to be murderously envious.
Mate I paid that for the whole car and I used both front and rear ends, pedal ***embly and the booster and master cyl which you can seperate and put on each side of the firewall then I wrecked it myself and trippled my investment, when shopping around there is a later XJ6 with vented rotors, thats the one to get
I paid $400 for the driver XJ6, I didn't look at any coupes as the brake booster/master cylinder and pedal ***embly is different
I am so jealous!!! I would have loved to find 1 of those things!!!! You know how hard it is to find 1 of those things that hasn't been rotted out by road salt from up north???
Good score on the XJS you found. Nice price, you will get more than you paid selling parts even after you keep the front suspension. Save and sell the rear suspension, the V8 Motor mounts, brake booster and master cyl, and whatever else might be good. Then s**** the body and get back at least half of your initial $300.
Good score on the coupe. It looks like you could sell off the removable sheet metal for more than you paid for the car or at least you could in this area pretty easily. Then you still could sell the hulk for s****.
I bought one out of a 91 xjs for 500.00. It had new oem rack, ball joints, calipers rotors and bearings. Poor guy rolled the car just after having all that done at the dealer. I put it under my 72 Series one with 400sbc, 700r4, 3.73:1
