Jeez, don't even worry about it. There's a turd burglar in every crowd. My dad had the same car and color. I'll have to dig through some old photos to see if I can find it, althought the photos are probably in back and white. Nice project !

I like the look of the original colors and wouldn't change a thing. As for the spelling I'm not the best at it but there are some people that like to thumb there nose it others to make them fell better about their inadequacy,,,don't let it bother you. HRP
Cool car and great story. I am another vote for keeping the pink. Real men ain't skeered to drive a pick car!
The pink is gay, in a good way, keep it. However I'd be looking for a period correct engine up grade, like a hemi or a later 318, I think upto 66 will bolt in, maybe not. Love them bat wing air cleaners and dual 4's.
I have to agree with the "Keep it Pink" crowd. It will still have your Grandma's at***ude, along with any at***ude you install under the hood. The Hemi idea sounds like a good one, but you build whatever engine you have a notion to. Some guys don't understand that money is sometimes a factor, and your engine choice might be based on what you have available, at a good price.... Good Luck on your project, whatever you decide to do...
Another vote for the keep the pink party. The blue is too common, I think half the 56 Plymouths made were blue and white. If you really want to rock the fifties, I saw a 55 Dodge Hemi hardtop that was salmon pink, charcoal gray and white. It was a knockout. Don't know if the 56 Plymouth was available in the same ensemble but it might have been.
Money is way I am not getting a Hemi just don't have the cash for one I can pick up a new out of the box 360 for less then $2000. and even less for one out of a yard a good true Hemi is more like $4000 to $5000.
not only would I not change the pink, I'd leave the factory original paint till it started falling off
