Who has a good referral for grille repair?

I have a 1936 Ford Pickup grill that needs some work. Since I am not expereinced in brazing, or welding for that matter I would be happy to have someone else fix it, and pay them to do it. Bottom flattened on one side by forklift, bars pushed (but not broken) in some areas, and a dent on the left side. I am in northern California. Thanks! ~Dennis

Did you ever get a response to the Grill Repair? I have a 35 that needs some works and would like to find someone too. There was a Company Vintage Metal Works (VMW) in Windsor, CA that you could buy individual Bars from or complete kits or they would do the repair but that was a few years back and I have not been able to find anything on them recently.

Did you ever find that company who sells replacement grille bars?

  5. If your capable of doing the repair after buying the piece then you should be able to make the repair piece also as I have. I don't have a truck grill to measure the inside width of the bar but that's where you start. Probably 3/16" or maybe 1/4". Get a piece of flat bar longer than you need for the repair and about 3" wide. Brake one edge with a file to mirror the roll of the grill bar. Now you need a piece of sheet metal same gauge as grill. Cut a strip 1 1/2" wide and longer than the repair needed. Tac the sheet metal 3/4" down the length of the flat bar and fold the extra over the filed edge. Now clamp it in a vice with alum. jaws till it's tight the full length. Cut both sides to Grill Bar width and file to a finished part. Ya it takes a little time but don't everything?
