The comment about cleaning up some old aluminum slots reminded me about cleaning some up years ago.

Used a product called "Br***o" available in a can for cleaning br***. Worked great with minimum labour on the aluminum slots I was cleaning. Still my first choice cleaning aluminum.

I have used a product I believe it was called "Auto-Sol" or something similar. It comes in a squeeze tube and works very well polishing metal of all types. The Br***o products work well as the poster above mentioned.

I've checked a lot of those places like Ace - Pep boys etc. What they have now is a black plastic bottle with WHITE polish in it under the same number. Can't figure out why. The PINK stuff is great. Meguiar's says you can get on a back order list. WTF?

I use it on my mag wheels on my midget race car and it is great. Last time I was at Auto Zone I noticed it said "close out" so I bought the last two at the discounted price.

That seems to have been one of their habits over the years. make a great product that guys love and then decide to drop it and sell something else in it's place. I need to clean the wheels on my ot truck so I'll look for some when I'm in town tomorrow.

Every Viet Nam era vet will remember Br***o and not always with good memories. We spend a lot of time polishing the br*** for our uniforms with that stuff to get them just right to p*** inspection then.

IMHO, most metal polish all seems to work the same to me. Anybody like Never-Dull wads?

I got some wadding type polish at an American Racing booth a few years ago that I really like, I don't know if they still sell it or not.

They did that with their low-gloss Hot Shine Tire Gel a few years back. You can still get the high-gloss version but it isnt quite as good and has to be buffed off after applying or the tires are way to shiny.

I'm pretty sure Mequiars was bought out a few years ago. I think they just use the name now.
