Just checked out the whole project! Very nice, looks awesome (due to some awesome talents no doubt). It's mind boggling what can be done by a guy all on his own in an attached garage. Regards, Rhys

where you fixed the corners -where the signal lights were-.. will you be able to re-plate the whole upper piece?

thanks for update. i was sure others would like to see. thought about doing my doors that way, but maybe later. bodywork is holding me up now. one thing leads to other then another and another... i do like what your doing though, looks great.

Glad you asked as I completely forgot I started this thread... My car is taking a long time as I am doing it all. Plus since starting the grill mods I bought land and moved so that sidelined the car for almost a year. I hope to have it in primer by June and ready for some late summer cruise time.

As for the doors, I know most people will not like that mod, but it's my car and damn it I like them....

And yes one thing does lead to another & another & another... I know this all to well. at this rate my car may never be done.

Again, thanks for bringing this back up ...

Oh yeah, more pictures are posted on Facebook page (see link below)

  18. ok i dont think you really asked for opinions but..... i like the grille the only thing is the bottom where the rest of the stock grille opening was and i have an idea if you dont mind

what about finding another upper 49 grille and doing it just like you did this one but invert it ? maybe on the pieces that go out from the grille under the headlights you could split them along thier peaks and weld the two havles together , does the make since?

Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts, but I am very happy with my design and final outcome.

nice job on the car so far. looks like it's gonna be a great looking car. did you have to narrow that floating bar, or is that that that original width?

    Thanks for the props!

It is a stock grill, just so happens to be perfect fit.

  23. I like what you did with the grill, but I have to say that I'd probably have left the surround chrome the way it was. I think it had a lot of character like that.

Keep going with YOUR idea... it works, looks sick and it's YOUR's! Very original idea with a hell of a good look. Can't wait to see it done. Great Job. Cheers!
