Thought I would start off the what did you get done this weekend post as I did not see one.......So what did you get done on this long weekend.........

I did a light sanding and got the second primer coat on the motor I have been grinding smooth. Its smooth now, need one more filler primer coat and it will be ready for paint...

hard plumbed the compressor I bought a few weeks ago compressor with black iron 1/2" piping and installed a oil/water seperator and regulator so I can get to painting the motor finally. today I spent the day cutting holes in my Model A gage pod.....

I like the way it gage pod came out but think I will either weld up the center hole and have it rechromed (i put a small scratch in the chrome... damn.)

or make a filler piece and install very small turn signal lights and highbeam indicators in the area. Even thought about trying to figure out how to wire up three indicators to lite up when the gas tank is at 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 full and use it as a gas gage rather then a standard one (problem is I do not know how I would even begin wiring something like that up...)

    Happy 4th

shouldn't, there is not much primer left on it, I primed it, sanded off alot of it to see the high spots and added another tough after working a few small areas.

  4. see new look for coupe post.

  5. Finaly sold my 4buh4 daily driver.[IMG]1985 4runner, it's the duce roadster for Toyota 4x4 geeks. Last year for a solid axle, 1st year with fuel injection. I do enjoy "wheelin" just cant make time for it and my true automotive love of hot rods.
Why is it when you have the cash you cant find what you want? I've been keeping my eys open for a 94-96 GM wagon (3 kids)for months, 2 weeks ago there were half a dozen around....now none:mad: . Looks like I'll be sportin' the $2500.00 Prelude and dumpin some money into the '63.:D [IMG]
Im thinking SEATBELTS,front discs, lowering, wheels and tires, and DRIVE IT!
Oh yea...it needs a new/patched radiator since I got excited with the presure washer last weekend:eek: . G.M.B.

first spent quality time with my mother,

she's pushing seventy and we we rarely get to see each other.

but I did get to work on the little car for a few hours today

scavenged the exhaust out of the Stude and started putting it in

fired it up to check the note and she sounds sweet

I mocked up my collection of parts and built a 2x4(wood) frame to see what would work.It seems like I don't have to alter any of my drive line.I have the body jig and ribs set up so now I can lay on the cedar strips and fiberglass the sides. It's going to be a "tub" built like a canoe. This is my first attempt at rod building and it sure beats being a couchpotato.

  9. What's the wheelbase? (looks about 90" - little car for sure)

Got the brakes adjusted on my Edsel, plus got the wheels back under it after blasting and powdercoating with the 2 1/2 in whitewalls, finished wirebrushing and painting the engine compartment and ran all the new fuel lines. . . next weekend will be a bust, but hoping to drop in the engine in 2 weeks!!!!

  12. Welded up some limefires for the C dan or the mod, don;'t know which yet. I think I will put them on the C dan first and piss off the neighbors. Also, see my post about the temp in your garage. I could only work out there a few hours a day.

  13. No Biggy, just had to re-route some plumbing. Quadruple bi-pass. Not my best weekend ever but I'm home now.

    Real men have 5....not 4... :)

Relax....things do hurt less a little more each day...

I had 5 in July of 2001. Feeling better takes about 4 to 6 months for most. Less IF you did not suffer thru a heart attack and scheduled the surgery.

Glad to know you made it........

I waited and waited and waited for my International to show up... Missed Heavy Rebel because of it. :( Then it didn't have any brakes and I had to get it off the transport with my come-a-long... But I'm finally calming down about it. Maybe it was just an oversite....

  21. Saturday, got 2xcrash's 54 plymouth running and sounding good. Wanted to do a 'maiden' voyage...but the tranny wasnt working. I think it needs fluid. You put in in gear...nothing. :( Also, found out his 650 4bbl Holley {that was rebuilt} from E-gay, turned out to be a leaker. If anyone has one laying about...we can use it. PM me or 2xcrash.

Sunday..traded my 41 Plymouth for a nice 31' 5-window coupe. IM excited and already started stripping her of parts, broken glass, loose interior pieces and stripping the seat of its ratty upholstery. Trying to decide what im going to do w/ some "extra" parts on the coupe - (4-banger, trans, suspension, fenders, running boards, possibly the original grill shell...) I may sell them out to help fund the A-coupe project.

Im still smiling big....Damn...its been a great weekend.

Oh, Happy 4th to all...especially to you Veterans who would have sacrificed themselved for me and all of us....and my hats off to the fallen...I salute you.

--Started off my weekend at the local pull-a-part, went out looking for some carbs...ended up snatching up some Armstrong lever shocks off an old MG...been looking for some Ford or Delco's off and on...kinda hard to find or really $$$. Scored the Armstrongs for $10.13 pair.
Today the family got together, ate way to much and just relaxed. Going to move my truck project to the house tommorrow and work on getting it ready to ride in a few weeks.

    Happy B'day, USA!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. Thanks. There wasn't anything planned about it, just a chest pain in the middle of the night. The doctors said that the little heart attack that made me call 911 probably saved me.... cuz the one that was coming woulda put me down.

    I was lucky.

Cougardan...I've been down with the flu or a bad cold and you just made me feel 100 percent better. Glad you are OK.

Boones get rid of the voltmeter and put a gas gauge there. If the rest of the gauges and the lights dont work then you know you have a charging problem. :D

Before I got sick I helped my bitches on their cars. We had to replace part of the firewall on ThatGuy's firewall. It's a 40 Chevy coupe. Must have been in a bad accident years ago. Under a coat of lead was a mangled mess.

Then I helped Glasshole with his 34 chevy coupe. I just knocked some dents out and helped him figure out how to fix some body panels. This thing really kicks ass! You guys will really like it.

I put the nailhead in the 56 two weeks ago and started to change the pushrods out this weekend. One lifted suchion pulled out of it's bore with the push rod and I had to take the front water and intake manifold off to get the valley cover far enouph forward to get he dam lifter back in. The car ran till I got ready to hook the timming light up and then started to miss and sputter and died. The rotor went bad and I replaced it still wouldn't start so I replaced the pertronics with points still won't start and the points and coil are hot enough to raise a blister if you touch them. Dam POS Buick!!! But my weekend was still way better than Cougardans
