Does anyone know of any swap meets in the Chicagoland area in the next few months? I'm in NW Indiana, so I'm interested in anything in Indiana or maybe Michigan, too. Thanks in advance.
all depends on what you're looking for. they have swaps at the fairgrounds in valpo and peotone. just your run of the mill junk, have to dig through tons and tons of stuff to find any vintage speed parts or of any interests to the traditional crowd. we had fun and saw some cool stuff at marty and sons shop in sycamore in the spring. have to ask andrew(abomber) if he plans on making it a regular deal. i been to shows where a guy will put out a few pieces next to his car. larger shows like the pileup, detroit's billetproof and the indy road rockets rumble all had small swap areas.
Goblin, I live in Hammond.\ I was at the Road Rockets show, scored a '59 Caddy taillight for 5 bucks. I'm also planning to hit the pile up this year, but I'm more than happy to paw through piles of junk at other swapmeets too, it makes me feel better when I do find something. Besides, everything's junk until you need it.
hammond here also. we've been meeting in my garage every wednesday night for the past 12 years. should be 5 or 6 hambers here this wednesday. we were just talking about extending an invitation to others in the area.
