I am needing a picture of the throttle and trans linkage. If I could get the distance the kick down rod is from the pivot to, it would be great.
This is not answering your question, but I used Lokar cables for the throttle and tv linkage. It works great. I seem to remember about 1 1/4" for the distance from pivot to tv rod. But I don't have any paperwork to back that up. Here's a pic of what I did (I am currently using a stock intake and Carter 4bbl. with the same cable set up)...
You're welcome. The basic premise is to have the tv link on the trans all the way to the rear at idle and all the way to the front at w.o.t.. Mine shifts great. I am currently using a Carter four barrel and the tv linkage is hooked to the bottom hole and it seems to be in just the right spot.
From that pic it looks like it moves the opposite direction of the throttle rod. Is that correct? Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Tapatalk
Ok that would mean the factory stuff goes to the rad fire both. Thanks Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
So in my quest for this information I found a lot of people asking and almost as many people giving miss information so I figured I would share what I learned. For all that have the hydromatic duel coupling 4 speed aka "jettaway" transmission: linkage 1) the ratio is 2¼ from center but it is also important to note it is 1.325 forward of the pivot (yes this matters). 2) the factory "dry adjustment" is to push the TV rod as far to the firewall as possible then adjust the pin till it aligns with the linkage hole. Once that is none loosen the firewall side jam nut, after that tighten the Rad side jam nut 3 full turns. Tighten the firewall jam nut and test drive. If the engine lugs, keep moving the jam nuts to the firewall 1 turn at a time. if the transmission holds the gears to long at anything other than "pedal to the wood, adjust the jam nuts to the Rad one turn at a time. The most common mistake I read was that the TV linkage was supposed to be pulled to its Max. In some posts people event so far as to say it was supposed to be at min travel at idle and Max travel at full throttle. This is not the case. The adjustment procedure was taken from a scan of the GM service manual
