I finally took some pictures of my '48 Hudson that I got from Mr57. I gutted the interior to check the condition of the floor and it isn't too bad, nothing a little sheet metal and welding won't cure.
Cool. What are your plans with it? I've always thought a Hudson Hornet would make a cool custom in a taildragger kinda way. I recently saw a sweet coupe at a local car show (I posted a pic of it, search Greenwood car show if interested). It was just a stocker, but really cool.
For starters I would like to try and get the engine running, one of the valves is seized. If I can't use that engine I will probably throw in a 350ci, they are cheap to rebuild. Maybe chop the top, depending how involved I want to get and definitely lower it, might use air suspension. Probably upgrade the interior with a modern look but I will keep the bench seats just have the recovered. I was thinking of painting in a pearl color, haven't decided what color though.
I agree - kick *** car. When I bought the 38 dodge, I couldn't decide between it and this - really happy my bud got it so I can see it progress! That purple one posted - no chop on it and it still looks damn nice! It's a decent roof line to begin with!
Here Buddy! (Mr57 - you'll like this as well, since the car used to be yours.) Chopped and slammed it for ya! BAD***!!!
There was one of those sitting here in town a couple of months back....it was rough...but its gone now I think the dude moved....
I had to pick up my grand daughter Saturday in Pittsburgh, PA. I saw a coupe on the east side of Rte. 23 on the south side of Columbus. Just sitting in the middle of a field. No sign or info that I saw. I'll try and spot again on my way to Columbus Goodguys when I travel there Thursday morning and see if I can get the mileage from the car to I-270 on the south side of Columbus if anyone's interested.
Testing for my Buddy JD - wants to know if we can post pics directly from his website so people don't make fun of the top banner on it (couldn't resist.)
I know where there's one sitting, not too bad shape. I'd lke to have one but I don't have the resources to do anything with it though. Great looking cars, great proportions.
