I'm going to try to keep most of the firewall. I will probably have to modify it a little. Plan is run an injected small block with a 4 speed. I also have an olds rear with 5' ladder bars that Jim Tinsmith built for the car that Paul Balash has now. Paul gave me these when he put a 9" ford rear in his car. I have axles and a dana 31 spline posi unit for it as well.

We were just discussing your build yesterday as I hauled an old 1960s g***er Willys ch***is out of the barn.

I have just restored the original firewall on my '40 coupe and it too is receiving a very rare and wild SBC. I'm having to run a cross flow radiator, but it allows me to have full legroom and gives enough space to fit everything under the hood. I do not have to modify the firewall at all.

Great to see this rescue progressing so well....

Here ya go - photos never published before: Weasel's 'Anti G***er' - built for touring and comfort but will look so close to stock from the outside when finished, bringing out all the deco glory of the original 440 De Luxe....

I really don't want to derail ME.g***er's thread even if they did ask for photos, so I am going to refer future updates to the 1937-1942 Willys photo thread.

    Weasel,
That looks awesome. Can't wait to see this one done. We should all get together when they are all done. What a gathering that would be. Thanks for posting the pics.

Sometimes these cars find their owners. I think this is the case here. Great job.

A few progress pictures. I needed a break from the welding as i was having an eye issue so i did some bodywork. I finished the repair around the wiper holes and reshaped the windshield post. These were originally leaded in but i used all metal filler. [IMG]

I spent quite a bit of time with a shrinking disc and a slapping file to get the quarters in shape. [IMG]

This quarter panel need quite a bit of work from the belt line down. The old repair was done by beating the quarter in and covering it with a heavy coat of bondo. It would have made a good picture for the bondo abuse thread. The roof was in really good shape. It only took me a couple of hours with a hammar and dolly to repair it. Then covered everything with etch primer. Next i will be tackling package tray and the front floor boards. Once completed i will epoxy prime the inside. Stay tuned.[IMG]
