Greetings to all. My name is tommy b and I live in Golden, CO, about 2 miles from the Coors brewery, where I worked for 25 years before I retired in 1999. (yes, back then we were allowed to drink during working hours. And they even paid me a salary!) My introduction to hotrodding was in the late 50's when I stuffed a 283 Chevy engine into a 48 Merc. Then came the installation of a 55 Caddy engine and hydramatic into my 58 Ford pickup. In 1970, I bought a Jeep CJ5 with a 265 Chevy engine in it. I replaced the engine with a 283 Chevy and am currently starting to restoring the body on it. In 1989, I bought a 51 Ford Victoria into which I'm installing a 351 Windsor, C4 ******, and Maverick rear end. I am pretty much done with the body work and painting and am ready to fit the engine and re***emble the car. I like to do as much of the work myself as i can. I am currently enrolled in an evening bodywork cl*** at the local Votech school, where I do the sheet metal work and painting. I have always liked working on cars ever since I did my first brake job on my dad's 50 merc when I was 16. Although I'm not too good at electrics, I have rewired my Jeep and am in the process of rewiring the Ford, making my own harnesses from scratch. I hope to get a lot of questions answered here and, hopefully share some of my knowledge as well. tommy b
Welcome! There are quite a few people from Colorado on here. Where are you taking the auto body cl***es at?
Not sure how to post a reply. Hope this works. Auto body cl***es are at Warren Tech (Red Rocks Community College) I have a few pics of the Victoria but I'll need to figure out how to post them. Where in Westminster are you? I'm near 52nd and McIntyre. tommy b
120th & Sheridan. The HAMBers in Colorado are pretty much spread out all over the state, from the western slope to the eastern plains. So, the Red Lion car show must almost be in your back yard! That show is coming up pretty soon I think.
