Shame I missed all the fun but had the oppurtunity to put in some serious hours on the Volvo, knocking out rust and sweeping it up. Interesting fact, Volvo 131 is Swedish for rusty bastard!!

Cheers, Phil. I love that first photo....

Sorry I didn't get a good chance to have a chin-wag, Clark and I were just running the ass's off the A's. I presume you're doing the hayride? I'll speak to you then?

Damn , thats another cracking wknd I missed . Looks a lot of fun , dueling 4 bangers , love it ! Anymore pics of that modified Phil ?

  5. Good picture even if its not the best angle!

    Wheres all your pics Darren?

You usually have them all on before I've even got home!

  6. Ah, you mean because someone else seems to be in front?
Mark has never been to the drags before. Watching you two duelling it out over and over was brilliant!

  7. Ask and you shall recieve...

That has to be the best thing I've seen in ages , absolutely love it ! Can't wait to bump into it in the flesh :)

  9. Knew it was coming, didn't know how pretty. 16.5 with a stock 221, bar the twin carbs and headers.

Best not bump into it though, don't think he'll be happy.

  10. Looks like it has Nitrous solenoids too....whats under all the plumbing? Rover V8? Ford V6? Got any more pic's of the car?

  11. Thats cool.....wonder if he based that on the Miller 122

Great Pics, those A's looked awesome going down the track.

I was just glad that the weather turned out good.

  13. 'Fraid no more pics. We were on a bit of a mission. All this plumbing was buried in a battle weary Mk2 Cortina. Yes nitrous as well. THINK there's an Essex V6 buried in there, but couldn't tell to be sure!
Wonder what holds it all together...?!

  14. Few more from the day:

Here's Tony Cardy ripping off a 13.1 @ 106/7? in his little swiss cheese modified. He ran a 12.7 last year. And then fitted the radiator back on to drive 200 miles home. I last saw him using it to tow their "support" Model A truck after it wheezed it's last on the hill climb into Banbury..

Here's a shot of the fireup lane during a slight lull. Why is it not that empty when I'm queuing up? Notice the Fiat and Chev are just launching. The Fiat did a bunny hop - all four wheels off the deck as he lifted off the throttle to bring the nose back down!

and here they are further down. Missed how close they were at the end, sorry. Perhaps someone else saw it?

  15. OK, well, it'll be "the mystery car" for now!! Maybe someone on 'that' UK forum may know.... ;)

Here're a few from me, sorry for the delay.

Cool '27 was new to the meltdown and ran well.

4ever4 own's the full fendered A and ran a 18.8 best. My A is the black, fenderless example, I managed two 18.9's. It was the most fun I've ever had at the drags.

    Mart's 'Old Rusty' (& Mart!)

Glen's '32 is fresh out and blew it's trans on Sunday. Alan's T is running 15's and sounds stronger than ever.

    Miles' Falcon...

...giving it some stick. Sorry for the crap picture, I took this from my coupe whilst sat waiting to run with my helmet on and through the windshield. Shine/Thacker roadster can be just seen at the bottom of the frame.

  18. nice!

Could you send me any full size pics of the two cars together that you have?

  19. Darren - who's was the new 27 then? You've caught Mart's good side there. Hello Mart!
Glen blames me for changing that body. Quite happy with the coupe body until I lent him the T down in the New Forest... Thought he needed to feel the wind in his hair again. Oh. That's not right is it?
Serves him right for running an auto instead of one of those really strong early Ford boxes. Oh. That's not right either is it?

  23. Why so it is! If I hadn't been staring throught the viewfinder I'd have said hello!
So Cross Spring, we now know who's the madman behind all the plumbing, but what lies beneath?! Is it an essex V6? Have you a picture of the whole car - I was too busy making sure my young lad didn't wander into anything...
