I'm looking for any info on this '32. The car look to have been an East-coast build as it was channelled and not chopped. *** I have found out some more info on the car. The deuce was bought out of Livonia or Garden City Michigan some time around 1972. Bought from a Barbara Barretta or Barbara Webb. ***le has both names on it. Maybe Mr. Barretta lost the car in a divorce and wife was selling it, or Barbara was a widower, or maybe she just owned a really cool car??? Anyone from the Detroit area remember a channelled, unchopped, SBC powered, yellow deuce running around? *** The rear tail pan has some distinctive slots in it, I ***ume for some type of nerf bar. I'm also thinking someone might remember the tail lights and Rumble lid that is attached with a piano hinge at the bottom. Any info would be appreciated and any pics would be stellar! .
I haven't figured that out yet??? It appears the car had a heavy channel and maybe they were gonna run fenders on it and modified the body line where the fenders would cross over it??? That's the only thing I can think of... Easily repaired though. .
Seriously, nobody remembers a channelled yellow deuce running around the Detroit area in the late '60s early 70's??? Someone help a brother out. LOL...
It don't really matter where the car has been. It's where it is going that counts. Buy it if you like it and make it your own. I am a Chevy guy and even I think these coupes are hot right now. You snooze...you loose and will probably keep wondering why you did not go for it. Make it a piece of your history.
I lived in Livonia 1960 - 1985 and don't remember ever seeing a '32 coupe in the immediate area. But, I've got some photos taken at a mid-70's show in Dearborn that I'll look through, maybe something will pop in the background. Steve
OK, more info. A little sanding revealed the car had been painted several different colors. In order under the yellow was: blue (possibly metallic), black, maroon, then maroon again. The car was ***led by a Barbara Marietta, in Livonia MI in 1983. NOT '72 as previously stated by P.O... She lived in Garden City, MI when she went by Barbara Webb when she sold it to a Scott Orr of Battle Creek, MI. Date of this sale is unknown. Scott tore the car apart soon after buying it. It remained in pieces until his recent death. ANYONE know ANYTHING??? .
I am not much help but I lived in Troy from 1965-1974 and attended every event that was held in the area. I don't remember that car and I had a 5 window at that time so I would have remembered it. Jack Peiknic had a channelled 5 window that was yellow but I don't think it was your stye.
