OK, searched my ass off and I know it's here but cant find it. I bought some ET 10 spokes for my sedan and they dont fit, the inner cone of the wheel hits the hub (38 ford 5x4.5) prior to coming to a tight fit against the hub. I remember reading about the need to machine down the front hubs to fit them but I can't find the thread (threads) I want to be prepared for what I need done when I go to the machine shop so I dont feel like even more of a dumb ass. My question is, how much should I ask to have taken off, do I take it off the end or have them machine down the outside leaving the entire inner race?.... As for now I am taking in the wheel and the hubs to show my needs.....
I just walked out and looked in the box and it does say on the box, "follow mounting instructions inside box" but there is not any in there.... lugs, valve stems, and some nicely packaged 10 spokes, that's it. I will call ET in the AM, just thought I would check this eve as I am sure others have had this issue. Thank you.
Yup...had to machine the rotors on the first pair.....second pair went on billet hubs, so no issues.....lol
Went to the machine shop, with wheel and hubs in hand, they said $85/hr. One hour minimum and it will take an hour to machine them down. I am sure I will get beat up over this on this sight but I have a hard time paying someone MD wages to basically spin a rotor....am I wrong? Literally I know family practice docs that dont make $85/hr...... the guy that was going to do the work was a great guy, dont get me wrong but come on, $85/hr.???? Am I out of line. I picked them up and walked out.
