I am looking for information on the attached car photos. Car is actually a 1938-1939. Life Magazine had a small story of car similar to this and had an add of a car like mine. The car came to me with a 1951 clinton motor. This is not the motor that it would of had from the factory. I have every other peice to this car and need to find out what was the common motor from the factory. The ID States that the engine spec is a 69694 number. I thought that was a Briggs and Stratton number? The Tires are another issue as the original tires are beyond use. I have the original rims and the Junior midget hub caps. The original tires are a semi-pneumatic thick outer shell Goodyear. I am in need of four. There was a gentlemen on here that showed a picture of the car in 1948 looking for info. I purchased the car from him and they have owned it since 1948. I have a plan for this peice of history but cannot start until I identify the motor that was used.Interesting point is that there is a tremendous amount of brass on this car. Thank You for you help.

I have no information, but I'd sure like to say that is one neat car! If it was mine I wouldn't be against using the 1951 Clinton engine. It's been in the car longer than the original was.

Another interesting tidbit. The chain raceway to the rear is a hardwood rectangular box. I like the clinton motor but the rest of the car is so original that it seems only appropriate to install era correct motor.
