There has to be something on this on the hamb, I have searched and can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for. If you know where it is redirect me.

Where is the proper location for shocks, my f100 originally had them mounted to the ubolt bracket and tied to the frame above the hoghead.

My 90's trucks had one shock in front of the rear axle and one behind.

The newer model trucks claiming and having the best riding handling have both shocks placed in front of the rear axle with the tops leaning towards the cab, they are also placed on the outside of the frame with the axle mount close to the rear tire.......This has to be an improvement right?

    Or des it matter???

In racing, we used the angle of the shock to fine tune it. We could not afford that many different shocks. The best location is closest to the wheel. The more verical it is , the stiffer it will be. Shocks come in such a wide range of tune that you should contact several manufacturers, give them your particular application and they will be happy to help you get dialed in close. Have fun with the build.
