In the past i had a 66 impala,65 dodge coronet 383 4bbl 4spd,56 t bird,23 bucket t,75 chevy monza v8 4spd. In 1984 i had a 1972 chevy 350 4spd 4wd with a very rusted body that finally fell over the frame. I parked it. I also had a1952 gmc that had a blown engine parked next to it. They were both 3/4 ton. After pulling the bad body off of the 72, i measured and found that the 52 body would go on the 72 frame without too much trouble and the wheels fit in the wells perfectly. I drove it for a year and decided to restore the body so i took it completely apart and had every body part acid dipped and then to the body shop. After 2 years i had it all done except for final paint and the wood bed and i learned that my father had cancer and i put the truck on hold. He died 2 years later. It sat for years and one day i came home and found that my wife put new tires on it and said its time to finish it. Then my mother got sick and i parked it again and she p***ed away and its still sitting. Now i've got two grandsons and the oldest just turned 7 and ever since he could talk his favorite thing is what he calls the monster truck. He's been pushing for us to get it done and on the road. Thats what we're going to do and i'd like to post our progress with some pics of what it looked like then and during the rebuild and redoing it.
Bob, welcome from Oklahoma. Some times it takes our grandkids to inspire us to action. Teach your grandkids all your knowledge of tools and all things mechanical and they, as well as you, will never regret it.
Welcome from Indy. Nice intro and we would love to see any pics you have! Put em' on the main board so everyone can see.
