Hello, I'm seeking advice regarding a metal flake paint job I'm doing on a buddies 68 Triumph. I started with a base of metallic orange, then laid on many coats of .015 orange flake(with clear), followed by several coats of straight clear. The problem I'm having is; unless the light hits it just so, the flake looks very dark, almost like black pepper. I'm afraid I may have used too light of a base. I tried to match the base to the flake as best i could, but the flake is a tad darker than the base. I've seen alot of discussions here on this subject, and it seems that some of you have experience with paint, and metal flake, so I thought I'd put it up and see if anyone had any ideas. Thanks in advance, Pete
Pete, this is the intro page, post the paint ??'s over on the main board under technical. You won't get any answers here. Good luck with your flake probs.....
