I am building a 1960 f100, I was told it is all original. Well What I am told is that the side hood emblems/badges are 59and are not right for the truck but the hood is 60. No holes look to be re drilled for the emblems. Do i need a new hood and badges or is this an early truck?

I have already bought the badges. Its just the old 59 badges are on the hood and obviously arent the right ones for the truck. I thought both the 59 and 60 side badges would have the same mounting pattern but I was wrong. So do I have the wrong hood too?

I wasn't saying to buy them, I was saying the side badges match yours in the picture of the ones on the tire, third pic from the bottom in your original post. The front badge matches yours too. I don't think the one in the last pic is the right one for your truck.

Did you not get the answer you wanted last time?

That's the same hood that's on mine, except mine has some terminal cancer.

The emblems you have laying on the tire are 1960 hood side emblems and the one pictured below them is the correct hood front emblem.
That is a 1960 hood and you are correct about the side emblems being 1959.

Ok. Now I dont undestand why these emblems were on at all. Also there were no other holes for 60 badges. Possibly an early truck?

you have a 60 hood and 59 emblems on some one probally didnt have the right emblems so the filled in the holes and drilled new ones and put the 59 emblems on

that truck is 52 years old and chances are it could have been worked on and things changed. my daily was wrecked in 98' with 255 miles on it when i purchased it and the wreck was 2 miles from the dealer on the way home shortly after it was purchased as a demo model.

I read somewhere on another forum that the service replacement hood for all 57-60's was the '60 hood once they came out.

Maybe your hood was originally a service replacement for a '59 model, so the tech punched the holes for the '59 badges, and then later in life your truck got that hood?
