Hot Rods 50 Mercury

Does anyone have a picture of what the 49-50 merc trunk latch and reciever should look like? Mine is a bit rotted away. Is there another alternative like the door popper idea?

It looks alot like a bear claw latch!!!

 

I would be interested in seeing how you did the trunk latch. I have a 50 Mercury coupe as well. Not sure it was a good idea due to cost but have completely rebuilt the flat head and putting it back into the car.

I used a 1979 Ford thunderbird electric unit and latch. I hid the little ****on in the glove box and just pop it and go...The latch required some modification, but it was a good fit

 

I am using a caddy automatic pull down latch for mine
