Long time reader here with a lifelong love affair with flatheads. What a tremendous collection of information & talented folks sharing their tips & tricks on this site. Not likely I'll do much more here than I have in the past except READ!!!! BUT,, A SINCERE thanks & wave of the hand to ALL the flathead ford V8 GURUS...some great stuff you guys posted over the years thats helped me get thru many a problem with my boat engine & got me to where I am today with it. Also a big thanks to EVERYONE who sent me (parted with) their cool vintage parts for this project..many thanks I couldn't have got to here without you all helping. Here's a few photos of our baby its a 1936 mahogany "Chris Craft" boat with a 40's Michigan marine Ford V8 conversion. In the summer of 2011 she's finally together & back in the water after the previous 2 owners 50+ years of neglect & dry dock. This year we'll work on the trim & upholstery in between making some waves. Thanks again for all the help- KEEP ON TRUCKIN!!!! Welcome from Kansas. DANG! that boat looks like it came out of a Bond movie! The motor is as sharp as the boat - very cool.
Welcome from western New York. Love the boat. Now you have to get motivated and build a land yacht to tow that beauty around.
Welcome Doug, That is one cl***ic piece of work! I've always loved the old Chris Craft boats, and the flathead is like the utmost choice of engines for your creation. This is one of the nicest non-automotive posts I've seen here on the Hamb, thanks for all your hard work and for sharing it with us. Your post needs to go to the main board for sure. "Great Job."
