i decided to un bury the 36 thats been siting at the back of the ranch of my wifes grand parents and there was no frame just body and flat head when we got the truck in the shop we are having a hard time locating the vin in the cab so my question is,,, is the numbers on the flat head the same as the vin ive been told this by other people but they are gmc and chevy owners so if anyone knows of this a conformation would be helpful thank you
I have a 48 kb1 and the licencing vin N0. is the Engine No. There are frame Numbers but weren't used much for Vin.s It Depnds on the State your in or where it was 1st licenced.
If I remember right, the numbers on my 37 were on the side of the frame rail, driver side just in front of the cab. If the engine is still the original, the engine numbers will match the frame (it did on mine). I believe the numbers on the block are on the p***enger side but I could be wrong. Call the DMV in your state to see what they will accept as the VIN because each state is different. I was able to use the frame number here in Florida. Good luck!
ok well i have the original motor which has four numbers then dash then two letters does this sound right
34-36 international had numbers on a plate on drivers side floor just inside the door. frame numbers left side of frame ,all the way forward. also had numbers on plate drivers side apron.
In the 'old' days, there was little conformity a**** the states regarding ***le numbers, in fact some states did not even have ***les until the 60's or so. Check with dmv and ask what they want. You will no doubt need some proof of ownership and they will also tell you what is acceptable. .
ok thanks yeah all i have is the cab and doors hood radiator grill front fenders head lights and the turn flag winshield and front half of frame and flat head motor i found numbers on the motor but knw where else its been on familys farm since 1965 my aunt and uncles all learned how to drive in this thing but over the years people swooped in on it
