installing a front winshield crank out regulator on my 35 Ford

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rob-redm, Mar 30, 2012.

  1. I was hoping to get some helpful hints on replacing the front crank out regulator. The lighting in my garage is pretty poor, but had my drop light out. I was was wondering if someone could give a few tips on the best way of replacing it. The old was is just plane worn out, and I have a really nice original to replace it. I see the two screws the hold the lift into the frame, and a the screw that hold the crank out knob. Then the two crew that hold the regulator in the bracing in the cowl.. Just thought I would ask what the best way to go about first ? Does the windshield frame assy need to come out... Sorry for all the questions but the Ford manual I bought, does not have the coach/body shop directions in it...

  2. Tilt the window out first. Remove the dash and you can get to all the screws needed to change out the regulator...

  3. wasn't thinking the dash would have to come out.... looks like I may have more work ahead of me...
