was hesitant about doing a build thread due to all the hate for "bobber/ rudy" style trucks. but im going to do a hot rod, not a bobber. so i should be golden haha heres what i started with. 1936 ford cab. not too bad for sitting in a briar bush for 10 years in wet coastal weather. marked out the cut lines for what i was planning on doing, but that changed pretty quick... was going to go a 3 inch chop and a 3 inch section. but instead i decided a 5 inch chop and no section would be a bit better. heres a quick mock up of the stance im going for. sorta low but pretty agressive. lookin for the 60's altered look
because the back is gonna sit sorta low ( bout 6 inches at the back of the cab) i started making the frame for it out of 2x4 box tubing, and added a 12 inch step notch. wanted to have fun with the gussets so i plated the sides of the notch with circles rather than the usual diamond shapes. up to this point ive just been collecting parts. scored this 37 ford p***enger car rear end to get the radius rods i wanted and also the spring.
