I am looking for some feedback on wheel choices for my 57' Ford F100.
The back has a mini-tub so I can fit some meat under it and I might be doing a c-notch and axle flip real soon. I am up in the air on what tire/wheel combo I want to run yet and I thought some pics or other's ideas might help.

do suspension first, then fool around with wheels and tires.

  4. I know that they are not "traditional" but I do like those magnum 500s.

I like chrome revers wheels, but I like painted wheels just as well and sometimes better on a pickup.

If you were going for the weekend dragster look I would say to look for a decent set of Americans but it doesn't sound like the weekend dragster look is what you are after.

Steelies and baby moons with black wall tires.

  6. Don't c-notch/flip. The truck sits nice as it is

1964-up stock 6" wheels with '55 car caps

15X5 wheels (these would be factory stock for your truck)

It's a lot easier to be able to tell a guy what wheels/tires not to put on his truck rather than what to put on it.

As far as aluminum wheels go American five spokes never get dated or look wrong on a truck like that.
You can probably get chrome reverse wheels in the widths and offsets you need fairly easily and again they seem to always look right along with painted steelies and small caps.

Wide Whites anyone? I seen a few with WWW on painted steelies with spider caps. The chrome smoothies on the rear are in excellent shape so I might just be cheap and buy some matches for the front.

Any wheels you buy-have them checked on a balancer. I checked one front and one rear on a set of 4 I bought and thought I was in the clear. Last wheel I mounted and balanced was a POS and wobbled like a drunken sailor.

15" x 7 painted steel smoothies, trim rings and bullet centre caps.
    205/75 whitewalls.
    Good luck whatever you decide.

Proper plated Magnums with the lug nut area blacked out and redlines would be WAY cool. I was thinking the same thing. But then the wheels would look better than the truck, and he'd have to paint it. Black. Yea, black with chrome magnums! DIG IT!

I might end up with the weekend dragster look. Hell, I could go pro street too with the right backspace. If the tape don't lie a 14" or 15" wide tire would slide right in there!
Funny about the Magnum 500s, I don't even care for them on Mustangs much less 14" wheels on a truck!
