I can appreciate the craftsmanship, but I belive the D.O.T. would frown on a glass gas tank.

You know what they say about people that drive glass choppers?

    "Don't drive on gravel roads!'

DOT hahahaha This Bike is a show piece..

  5. I very much appreciate the work that went into it...but man, it sure would have had more impact if that beautiful glass work was on a simple hardtailed chopper.

  9. It is a work of art all right, But I'm not sure it all works well together.

I see a lot of time and craftsmanship ,but I cant get past the frame and front end....may be Just me- but its strange.

    cool!

i've hung with a few glass blowers in my years, it looks like the glass on that bike is well supported and insulated frim contact from hard objects. if tempered properly after being blown, the glass should be very strong. the key is to have it contact nothing but rubber or some kind of gasket to prevent vibration from cracking it, and the ocassional rock impact shouldn't be much of a problem. think of a pyrex measuring cup, that's the type of glass used.

Glass is really strong actually. . . I even tempt fate and mount glass headlamps on the front of my car.

  15. Hey Guys,

I have to agree, less is more. Some of the nicest chops and bobbers going all sport a real nice spartan asthetic.. almost to the point of being minimalist. To me, this chop reminds me of a fad T, with a definate "becuase I could" build philosophy.

I can def appreciate the craftsmanship, effort and work that went into it but from a purely personal point of view it does nothing for me.

Mad skills and craftsmanship. Wish I had those skills. Looks like he took cool individual pieces and put them together even though they didn't match. I'm just not diggin it. DLP

I think he should hide a gas tank somewhere else on the bike and put goldfish in that one.

I'm also not digging the 'flow' of the bike, but appreciate the craftsmanship.

I didn't know Swarovski got into the chopper market...
Unfortunately, that thing is too bit for my wives knick knack cabinet, else I would have bought it for the Hummels to play with..

  20. I've thought about glass before. I always thought it could be cool. How about some more details. Is it oil in the tail and fuel in the tank? How thick is the glass? How was is formed?
To be honest, I don't dig the overall stance of the bike, but the tank and tail is beautiful. I'd love to have those to create a bike around. If he is capable, I really think he could market those. That tail section could look killer on an old school café bike as well. Call Kenny Dreer...
Since you're in MV, I expect he is near as well. Give us a tip when he might be at Fudd's or somewhere close. I want to see this thing in person. Thanks for sharing.

I can probably get him to bring thr bike out to a local show Lagrasta. as far as the painted grey comment, its actually brushed metal with clear. His first bike that he built here in the states and was in a few short films was sold to brad pit and he is currently building the cover bike for art of the chopper volume 2! Hate it love it whatever, I think its a weird show piece that someone with alot of cash will buy and sit in a museuem or private collection somewhere.

  22. Im wondering if they are even usable on the street. Both the oil and fuel tanks will fill with vapour as temps increase and will collect condendation on the inside. Maybe ruining the effect? I know once the oil tank sloshes around a bit it will coat the inside of the glass and then you have a nice black tank LOL!

Well that is different. I probably should'nt say it, but a glass blower friend of mine is making pyrex upper radiator hoses, or pipes if you will, for the import crowd. I thought about putting one on my model A for a second, BUT only for a second, it's not for me. It's kinda wierd, but it may be the next hip or trendy thing for some to have. Whats next?
