Yep, a couple of months ago I purchased a 1960 Pontiac Catalina 9 passenger station wagon from Roger Jetter AKA 40StudeDude in ColoRODo. I've wanted a wagon for a few years now and have been seriously looking lately. I knew Roger was working on this one and kinda asked him for first dibs last year I think it was. Fast forward to the beginging of this year and I asked him about how much longer before "my" wagon would be road worthy. As luck would have it he was just about finished up with the upgrades and makeover. We settle on a fair price and the wagon was mine.

I'd like to thank Roger and his brother Dan for giving me the opportunity to purchase the wagon and for putting in the extra effort making sure the wagon is completely road worthy and reliable for me and for getting the wagon safely to Jay's place in Kansas. I really, really appreciate it fellas.

I'd also like to thank Jay Sweet AKA No Surf for allowing us to use his barn as a drop point for the wagon and keeping it safe till BenD gets there to pick it up and of course I'd like to thank BenD for hauling the wagon from Jay's place to mine here in Michigan. You're the bestest sweetie!

Without further ado here are some photos of my new wagon which hopefully will make it to my place very, very, very soon as I'm so excited and anixous I can't heardly stand it.:D

The wagon didn't fit in Rogers garage with the front bumper on. Sure hope it fits in mind!

350/350 combo, perfect for racking up lots and lots of miles all year round.

I absolutely love the interior, not so thrilled with the exterior color but I know a painter.;)

The wagon loaded for its ride to Kansas. Thanks again Roger and Dan!

The wagon safely tucked in at Jays place......thanks again Jay!

With all this excitement I forgot to mention Big Olds found another home.:(

Almost forgot to mention I'm looking for a 1960 Michigan plate for the wagon. WIll pay cash, or trade for another year that I have OR will trade cookies:D

Oh man....That is SEXY!!!!!!! Jay has done a good job keeping this a secret!! It's a damn good place to "hide" it for a while until BenD gets it though....stashed among Jay's "fleet" here in the badlands! Nobody will mess with it at his place unless they wanted to be pounded into the Kansas sod! You should just come down to the BBQ and drive it home! VERY NICE!!!! You be one lucky lady!!!

I was seriously thinking of that option or flying into Denver and driving to Austin for the RoundUp then home but I just don't have that kind of extra vacation time if I want to do everything else I've got planned this summer.

Not Columbus as I've got other plans for that weekend BUT I am taking it to the Jalopy Showdown mid-May and Memorial weekend to BlktopBandits weekend bash in Dayton and to the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green in June and yes GG Indy for that Friday and Saturday but will not attend the Super Sunday with the new cars in attendance.

    Yeah, me too.

I'm thinking either a medium blue, dark blue or silver and of course a white flaked roof.

Yep, for the last 12 years it was.

  9. Nice wagon, did Big Olds go overseas or is it still here?

  10. hmmm just might have to make a trip to dayton on memorial weekend

i think the silver would be awesome with the interrior color as is i think medium blue would be alittle much just my opinion

  15. Just because Big Olds may have found a new home doesn't mean its sold. Probably parked in another garage away from the cookie factory. :)

i think Denise is above all the april fools BS,that clunker olds has been giving her alot of trouble lately, wireing, steering, etc.maybe she just got tired of spending money on it.and getting a cherry pontiac wagon w/sbc would be a easy out. She's got alot more room for delivering cookies and all the stuff you have to take along to car shows an such.maybe she just ate a couple too many of her (special edition) cookies.Big Olds will really be missed

  27. Alright girlfriend, welcome to the LongRoof gang.I have thought about a social club on here called the Wagon Masters. So now with my favorite gal holdin title for a beautiful Poncho wagon its on. This will be open to all makes of longroofs to help locate parts, complete rides, and any thing to assist in owning and keeping a wagon on the road. I am hoping Big Olds is just in a new garage! Love that rig! ~sololobo~

Naw, I put the front bumper back on before I shipped it...it's still got the the 1984 ColoRODo plate attached to it...

Figured I'd hear from you this weekend that the wagon had arrived by now, at least I was hoping it got there...Dan asked me last nite if I'd heard from you...let me know when it does.

Hard to believe that you don't have a 1960 Michigan plate in your collection...and even harder to believe the Olds "went to a new home"...!!!
