I am 66 years old and live in Marietta, Ga. Have always enjoyed working on any thing mechanical. Have been working on a frame off restoration on a 55 chevy 2 dr. H.T. for several years. It is now finished. My first car in high school (Chattanooga, Tenn.), back in 1962 was a 55 Belair H.T.(Had to have one more). It is 265 V8, power pack, straight shift, Gyspy red and shoreline beige. I now want to build a 30 Ford coupe. Just like I remember from back in 1961, standing in the drug store looking through all those hot rod magazines on the news stand. White wall tires, baby moons, rolled and pleated interior and all. Just bought a 61 chevy power pack V8 to rebuild to put in the car. Going to be looking for a lot of new old cl***ic parts. Hope I have the years left to get it built.:) May need a lot of help from all of you to get this done. This is a great site and I find a lot of wisdom here.

A few years ago I might have said something about a Chevy guy going to model A's. I have had a few this year and have to say it has been fun working on them. Of course my drivers still are all Chevy's.
Welcome from New York. Have fun working on your Chevy powered Model A.

Go for it. And good luck. I'm 56 building a 31 coupe and a Studebaker to run at Bonneville. I'd rather be in the shop than in front of the tv.
