Well it's time to start spreading the word. This is the 3rd annual Washington State East vs West flathead reliability run. Rules are simple- Drive your flathead powered car/truck/motorcyle/whatever to Vantage WA. Sept 15th 2012. Be there before noon to count. Side with the most flatheads win. This is a fun run and is free to attend. Final destination is Blustery's Burgers right off I-90.

The first 2 years were ruled a success, Last year we had over 100 cars! Lets get even more flathead rigs out there this year. Here are the past 2 year's coverage so you can see what to expect:

    2010: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=513728&highlight=vantage+wa

    2011: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=627349&highlight=east+vs+west

I'm gonna keep this thread going until the run, if anyone has any questions about the run feel free to PM or Antiqueautomike.

This years run is being dedicated to my good friend Terry. He is know and "Webster" here on the Hamb. Terry is a long time hot rod guy and all around good friend. He is loved by everyone, and has recently had some bad health problems. We are dedicating the run this year to him and pray for his full recovery. Fellow Emperor Jeff Allison whipped this up for flyer art with Terry's famous A roadster.

Sweet! I will have the '26 Roadster finally to a point where I can make this run without any issues....or worrying about making it home, especially after Bonneville.

...I have been wanting to make this run since it started....this year, I'm so there! :D

Thanks Chris! I hope to have my 34 ready. If not then the 37.
We had a nice time last year and have been looking forward to doing it again.

Thanks for putting my pop on the event poster. I saw it on Facebook and figured Chris would put it up here.(By the way the 34 roadster is looking good) It will mean a lot for my dad who is going through a very tough time with kidney failure. I love my dad and hope he can get to a point where he can go on this run, and if he can't make it than just knowing that it is dedicated to him will be enough. I will try to make it up there this year for the run.
Chris, I mentioned on Facebook that I would like an event poster to frame. Thanks again to Jeff Allison for doing such a great job on the artwork and the rest of the Inland Emperor's for putting on the run. Threw in a couple pictures of my dads flathead powered 29 roadster with Halibrand quickie for some who might not have seen it before.

Thanks Dale, Terry has always been a good friend to all of us...we were all talking the other day how most of our cars have neat old parts on em that came from your Dad. Terry is just good people and a flathead lover :D I missed seeing him in Puyallupthis year. I'll get you some posters as soon as we get some printed up.

Heres a link to more pics of his car:

I missed Terry at Puyallup also this year and was unaware he was dealing with health issues. I wonder how many of us are running cool vintage parts on our cars that we got from him? I wish him the best and hope for a speedy recovery.

Thank you to all The Inland Emperors, for dedicating this year's run to Terry.
Being in the Mischief Makers with him, and getting to know him is truely a great pleasure. All the Hot-Rod-A-RAMA's and the fun we have. I have a few great things I've got from him also that I treasure. I wish him a speedy recovery, Dale my place is yours at anytime you need it. Thank you again guys.... I would really love to have poster also if you can spare one... God Bless

That would be the Cascade Crest Trail BB. Depends on which side of that pile of rocks you are on.
Now I have to get busy and get something running in time.

I am truley sorry to inform those who do not know that Terry p***ed away last night. He will be dearly missed by many, he was a great guy!

  20. I too received an early morning call of the news of Terry's p***ing, he will be greatly missed by those of us fortunate to have known him, in my case 30 plus years. RIP

Terry, R.I.P. , It just wasn't the same Portland Swap Meet... not seeing Terry and his booth... Killer Stewart-Warner gauges...and neat old Hot Rod goodies and just talking.... I was lucky enough to meet Terry and his sons Dale & Gregg along time ago with my buddy Shawn.. Going to miss you Terry... My thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family. Terry touched many of people with the counciling work he did and helped many of people turn there lives around for the better... God Bless you Terry...

I'll have to put my request for that day off in so someone's hunting trip doesn't knock me out of going this year.

That's only 1063 KM Old-Soul should be a piece of cake. You could even cruise along with Chris and the rest of the bunch from Spokane to Vantage.

I've got to get busy and figure out how to get something going. I don't think a flathead in a 48 Chev pickup will cut it.
