  2. I wouldn't worry about it a bit. It's they keys I'd be after:)

Do you self a favor. Join auto club with some of the funds. (DMV no good).

    Good luck w it.

  3. Call the DMV. If you are in the computer I think you can go down and transfer the ***le and apply for a lost ***le at the same time. Just destroy the old one when it finally arrives in the mail.

Between trustworthy friends, I see no problem. Between anyone else there is some risk involved.

I bought a van from a buddy who bought it wholesale from His work. I paid for it and already traded it off to another friend. The first friend still hasn't got the ***le back but there is a bill of sale to me and then from me to the next friend. (Were all three friends).

I bought a car last week from another guy off the street. He hadn't got the ***le back from dmv as he had just put it in his name. I paid for it and got a bill of sale. Three days later the guy came in with the ***le and signed it over. I went out a little on a limb but he is a customer, I know where he lives and I felt good about it.

This deal could either go ok or it could turn into a real nightmare for both parties. What if something goes wrong and you never get the clean ***le because of some unforseen issue that you may not know about? Maybe there are tickets or a lein against the car that didn't surface until you applied for the ***le.

I would call the guy immediately, lay it out for him, and let him make the decision. To do it any other way will be playing Russian Roulette.

I think that ou are ***uming a lot when you think that the buyer will give you full payment for a car withouy a ***le in hand.

I sold a house once without a ***le. The agreement was 50% down and the bal. when the ***le is finally cleared. It took 4 years to get the final payment which was alright by me. But a house can be used while waiting for the ***le, a car can not.

    Why?

Auto Club doesn't issue ***les, only DMV does, so he still wouldn't have the ***le if he done it through Auto Club. I use Auto Club for the convenience but it still doesn't sped up DMV's part of it.

I wont buy a vehicle without a ***le. I wont sell one without it either. That's just me though. I like the deal to be done at the time of the sale.

I second that... Now if I really wanted the car I would be willing to wait. Maybe kick back some cash for his troubles and to keep him intrested.

  12. Well every early car ive done paperwork with. i have processed thru -AAA
yes dmv might be the final en***y however AAA will do all paperwork without a DMV visit. and treat you like a costomer not a criminal.
    just saying...

This is exactly what I was going to say, adding that if this guy wrecks the vehicle in between the time you transfer the ***le you will be liable for it as well. It is not technically sold until those signitures are on the ***le and the release of liability is filled out and dated. It happened to my dad when I was a kid. The bill of sale and notary will not be enough. The guy wrecked the truck on the way home no less. My parents got sued it was a bad bad deal!

  14. lets see the truck. post a photo.
