I just got my Goodguy Mag. I notice that they are letting 2012 cars in there car show and mag. Now Gold Chainer can go dealer ship and buy car and take it to Goodguy show. Goodguy shows is all about making money not about the hobby. Sorry.

I went to the GG show in Del Mar on Saturday . It was a decent show, and just to set the record straight, late model cars are only allowed on Sunday. You don't have to show up for that. I have no affiliation with GG.

the syracuse nats are the same way. letting in new cars on sunday. i don't go on sunday.

  7. Go on Saturday if you go. If there are 1,500 cars at GG, there will still be at least 500 worth your time. Get discount coupons if you can......;)

  8. It's a two-day show, just pick the day that has the stuff you like. I never go to any Goodguys show on a Sunday. That's usually when most guys are packing up and going home.

Don't let this distract you from going to a Goodguys event. They put on a very good show. If you like the older stuff, go on a Saturday. If you like the late-model stuff and like to watch autocross, go on Sunday.

It's impossible to put on an event and keep everyone happy. Goodguys is trying to appeal to a broader-based audience, and I'm completely cool with that. I tend to stick with the older stuff, but I'm a car guy, I like everything. Some of the late-model stuff has a cookie-cutter look to me, but you can't deny that some of that stuff is incredibly fast, and I like fast stuff.

Sunday is just the start of it. It is already in Mag. I am old school. I have no problem up the years once in while. If I want to see late model I can go to dealer ship or go to local cruise in. GG is the only place you go to now and see 30's, 40's, 50's car at large number in the Southeast.

I'm starting to go to the smaller venue's with the traditional cars. There is just a completely different vibe. Went to Torque Fest last year and had an awesome time even tho it was cold... Can't wait for this year! Bunch of traditional hot rodders just hanging out and having fun. Rust Revival in Wayland, MO. I hear is the same way. Can't wait to get there either.

As a business, I fully understand that you would have a day to pay the bills and catch whatever income that you can. Until you take the gamble to put on a car show, you can't understand the effort and money it takes. One rainout can put you under.
Go and enjoy and quit the griping.

another word to add along with "Rat Rod" to the banned subject list here on the HAMB.

I attended the Good Guys Del Mar Nationals last Sunday, and I didn't even notice any late-model stuff there, simply because I was too busy looking at the vehicles I enjoy.
Think of it like watching television.... If there is something you don't care to see, you change the channel. If there is a car at a an event you don't care for, just walk ten feet to the next one.
Life is too short for this constant whining.

Haven't we beat the "Greedy Goodguys" subject enough? If ya don't like it (variety of cars, swap meets, vendors, give aways, lots of awards, live music, a company run by a real car guy- Gary) don't go! By the way, spectator entry to a Goodguy's event last time I checked, (with member coupon) was $13. Want to walk into "Viva Las Vegas" this weekend? Try $35.00- whose greedy?

If it's the only place you can see 30's, 40's, and 50's cars in numbers then quite *****in. They have had the Sunday late model deal for a bout a year now, hasn't made any difference. Don't spend your time looking at the stuff you don't like. Simple
Oh Wait, I just noticed you said you're "Old School" - with your 66 Belvedere, that is too new for the HAMB but what you had when you joined up ...... Just sayin
