gotta go out for the rest of the evening so I gotta post now... woodgraining for a 1928 Star purple & pink panel with"fingerprint" background and another panel just for fun !
wanted to post these 2 pics of charlie the one arm bandit striping at the rumblers show...awesome stuff. on the cell phone... he also did this...
Nice work, even while talking on the phone, that dude is sharp..... BTW its 9 hours into Friday here, so you are actually late.
Dude, tell me your secret behind the woodgraining? I know you can buy a kit to do it but they're kinda pricey from what I hear.
Here's a before and after photo illustration I did for a guy who is building this 36. He wanted to see what it would look like in certain colors/wheels etc.
A couple more napkin dispensers. Sanded the all stainless one with 320 grit to get a brushed finish. These are both sold to HAMBers.
Heres a pic of some of my old work that I just stole from Caffeines link to the Rumblers coverage. I know that what Ive done is immoral and wrong but I never get to participate in these art show things.
Great show so far, keep it going guys. I got nothing, but next week should be all good. Rollie, those panels, especially the "Handpainted" panel, Rocks! Joel
Believe it or not, that particular woodgraining job was done with rattle cans and an 89 cent foam brush .
Caffeine take it easy you dont have to post 5 of 6 things every week it will be OK. I got something different I've been working on should be done soon.
Here's my contribution for the week: Trying some new things lately, so I whipped up these two skull panels: Also, here are a couple striped panels that I don't think I've posted in the art show yet:
I might have something to post later but for now bttt. Some nice panels and drawings guys. Keep em coming. Dan
Not to derail the weekly post or anything, but I had a question and it is art related - and this post would see the most artist traffic, so.... I am going to hand letter a car in a couple weeks. I can do the lettering freehand and I know that I can make it look good. Unfortunately the guy I am doing it for wants to have some kind of visual proof to look at. When I worked at the sign shop out software was ***s - we could manipulate any font and come up with our own styles. Then we could put the finished copy variations over a digi photo. The bad news is that I no longer have access to that program.... I have Photoshop so I could drop something onto a layer in there, but Photoshop's font manipulation is cruddy. More bad news, I have Illustrator as well, but I don't have a clue how to use it, the interface is clunky at best - NOT what I am used to..... So the question is, do you know any cheap or free logo design software? Or maybe could you give me some Illustrator tips.... Something vector based is prefered. And the ablity to hand tune the individual characters. back to your regularly scheduled programing. Nice work as usual, can't wait for the rest of the regulars to jump in.
This is how I do it in illustrator. type yhat you want, then outline the fonts... not by hand, there is a command, "outline" in the fonts menu at the top, then you can manipulate the vectors just like it's a line. Hope that helps some, the key is the "outline" command
anthony you know it is a sad day when you have no pictures of your work and have to hyjack pictures of it from another artists posts
I dont know If i have posted this before but I did this on my 60 a couple of weeks ago...I would post more stuff but my pics are too big and when i resize em they look like ****..I dont want to use too mush space on here..Jamie
