SO I have been slowing putting a 1928 rpu back together over the last year. But between this and my Harley project I'm out of funds. So Im trying to figure out if I should sell it as is or finish it and sell it. i used to always want a roadster pick up but then i got one and realized at 6ft 2in and being a bigger guy i don't fit. So my goal was to finish it and buy something late 40's early 50's.

I'm 6'1" and just sold by 29 RPU because I was never comfortable enough to drive it more than about 100 miles at a time.

Yes you should really be pretty thin and under 5'10" to drive one.

Is this because of leg room or what? I'm perfectly comfortable in a T Bucket at 6'1" and sadly now 240.

  5. I gueess that makes me fit real well.

Where are you at on the RPU. That makes it easier to decide if you are going to sell it as is or if you are going to finish it.

I've found many T Buckets have more room than a Model A RPU!
And like I said, I fit in mine, it was just pretty cramped after an hour or two.

Be worth a more as a running, driving deal. Unless you're gonna have to spend a ton of money to get it going I'd say stay after it.

Just had a friend sell a t bucket project he bought to flip, had a SBC etc and only lacked wiring, plumbing and a drive shaft to get going - probably three hundred bucks and a long weekend...

He said he didn't want to put any more money into it and wouldn't even wire the engine just so you could hear it run - he ended up losing money on the deal.

  8. You sit different in a T Bucket then you do in an A. I think that makes the difference. Legs down in a T like an easy chair as opposed to legs out in an A like a Lotus Elan.

They started getting uncomfortable for taller wider people by about '26/'27.

I am bolting the fenders back on on but I need new fender braces as the ones I got when I bought it are wrong. I also am trying to figure out the wiring for headlights and and tail lights. I also have a to make a mount to hold the seat bench in. But other then that everything is pretty straight. Has juice brakes 12 volt system C head and a over drive transmission. Im just so broke it could take me months to get the money to get the small things that I need
