Here is my tank on my bike just finished...got alot of ideas from pics on this site. Not as wild as a true 60's style but i didn't want to get tired of it being loud. Pics of the whole bike here: http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4742#post4742
just to be clear....I chose the colors and help layout the panels. Some one else sprayed the paint. This is the guy that pryed what I wanted outta my head http://www.defiantones.com/
Love the color combo Myke! Great deep reds, gorgeous outline - and they both site prfectly on black! kudos to you and the sprayer! how'd he get the darker areas/lighter areas for the lace? Spray light base color, then lay down lace and proceed with dark color over top?
That does look cool! I especially like the fact that you guy's did the bottom of the tank too. Small details make a big impact!
Exactly. The base is the brandy flake, then the lace laid down, after that the edges of the panels were faded with black. The outline of the panels are hand striped with a charcoal silver.
Your bike looks great Myke, beautiful job! Love the layout and the colors. I did lace panels on a fellows '70 Chevelle SS396 back in about '72 (did I just 'date' myself?), it was a red coupe with a white vinyl top and I put white lace on the fender and quarter bulges as well as paneled the deck and hood. It WAS a beautiful car (until we screwed it up), it was COOL back then, now I think about it and have nightmares. Wish I had it now though. -slacker
Killer lace, great color selection, awesome execution. I wanna lace my mustang sooo bad, that's only fuel on the fire....
Thanks very much for the compliments. I missed our laconia bike week with it (it was a few weeks ago) because it wasn't together in time.
