Was interested to see if anyone has use the 32' Ford repro rails you can get through Speedway? They are made by Hot Shoe Hot Rods so if you have any experience with them fell free to chime in. I'm not putting them under a Ford, but instead building a perimeter frame for a 31' Chevy coupe. Interested to hear what you guys have to say.

  2. Frame rails are a **** shoot anymore. You hear good and bad from alot of venders. I would go with an established Rod Shop like JW Rod Garage or SoCal Speed shop. Don't shop price on your frame, you get what you pay for. My .02 cents.

Got mine from JW Rod Shop. Very nice pieces and great people to deal with.

Can't remember the name but a shop in Mt. Vernon Mo. builds at least Speedway's model A frame. A friend of mine bought one from them because we could go pick it up and we had a few deletes and adds. He won't cut Speedways price but he does really nice work and great welds.

Not price shopping just wanting peoples opinions and experiences. The ones which SoCal carries(at least at the Sacramento store) are American Stamping and I have heard that they are some of the worst. Body and mounting holes being exact really don't matter to me. Because as stated it is a custom application. I was wondering about these specific rails because I can get a set in a trade with a guy.

Yeah that has to be them because it is a 417 area code which comes back as "Misery"(Missouri). Thanks for the feedback.

Friend of mine is building a 32 roadster based on rails they purchased from Speedway. Had to pull them to conform with the 32 frame jig but other than that he had no problems. He claims American Stamping supplies the rails sold by Speedway.

Thanks. Yeah it very well could be that ASC supplies their rails. I was told by a a guy on the phone from Speedway that it was Hot Shoe but he was an unhelpful ***** anyhow. What happened to people who work in specialty fields actually knowing WTF they're talking about?

  11. Hot Shoe Hot Rods acquired LRS Ch***is. I have never used one of their products but I know several people who have and they were very satisfied. The LRS web site is gone. Try this http://www.hotshoehotrods.com/ .

  12. I'd go ahead and get them in the trade. It sounds like you'll have to modify them somewhat to get the Chev to fit right. As long as they look strong and you can work with them go for it. I got my Model A frame from JW and I looked at there 32 rails and they looked nice, that's all I was saying. Nothing against Speedway, I've sent alot of money to Nebraska during my build. Good luck with yours.

I know two guys that got their frames from this shop. They were very happy with what they got. Both got 32 frames and put model A bods on them.

  15. Call Morrison Engineering in Fife Wa. They will bend tubes to your specs, easy way and hard way and easy to work with.

Not looking for anyone to build my Ch***is, but thanks. I was just inquiring about the Speedway rails (ASC). Anyways I think I got what I need. I would rather do it myself #1 because that is part of the fun #2 I know it will be done right and meet my expectations #3 I'm a cheap *******!
