Hello all, Ive been a member here about 8 months now but I haven't said much unless I thought I could be of ***istance to someone or that I could add something positive to a topic. I've been into custom and cl***ic cars my whole life. I have built many Lowriders some are off topic but most have been '60's Impalas; including my current 63 SS that has been on going for about 10 years. I finally met my dream of having my car featured in Lowrider Magazine about 2 and a half years ago. I immediately moved to the search for the next project, I have always wanted a Hot Rod and after a little over 2 years I finished my Model A coupe. They're never really finished, but its been on the road since the end of November (just in time for Turkey Run in Daytona) and I've racked up a little over 2000 miles on it since then. Im currently helping a friend build a '31 sedan, and then will be getting busy on the '30 Model-A truck that were building for my wife. I want to say Thanks already to many members on this site for all the info I have picked up lurking around.
Here is a couple pics of the cars: This was leaving for the ride to Myrtle Beach for "Run to the Sun" a couple weeks ago. My Impala
Welcome aboard from a little further North! Glad you didn't wait to finish to enjoy the ride. I do the same thing so I can keep getting better ideas of how I want to finish while I'm driving.................... Works for me.
Welcome from upstate South Carolina. I'll bet the conversation going along I20 was very enlighting with the pipes on the car and the wind thru the window openings.
Yeah my wife posted on her facebook page the very first time i fired the motor, that she had just came to the conclusion that "there wasn't going to be any long romantic conversations on the trips we take in the hot rod". Its acutally not too bad though, I built my own baffles/mufflers out of the internals of a gl***pack muffler, that slide right into the header and bolt on to the flange where my turnouts attach. The worst part was the wind that came in through the roof opening due to the cooler on the roof rack forcing the air down into the car. We ended up stopping and putting the cooler and duffle bag in one of our friends cars that went down with us after a few miles on the interstate; but after that it was a great ride down!
