Remember that pallet of dusty Columbia rear end parts and pieces I posted pictures of last week? Turns out after washing the dust off that most of it is brand new old stock replacement parts. It was so dark in that old barn that I just wasn't sure. Some 46 Ford and some 41 Zephyr. Have some old literature too to identify each piece. Here are some new photos.

Do you have the necessary EPA paperwork to store these? If not, you don't want any part of them - they'll come in and confi****e everything. Ship all that stuff to me & I'll make sure it's all stored & disposed of properly! ;) ;)

    Nice score!

That's not true, everybody likes a smart-*** (as long as they aren't the target).

    speaking of 2 speed rearends...
why is it that no car manufacturer today makes 2 speed rearends (trans-axles) for modern cars? they complain so much about fuel efficency , why not combine a 2 speed rearend (trans axle) with an o/d trans??
i'm thinking that it would help with gas mileage...or would it be too costly to produce? would it make that big of a difference ?
would it make the engine lug at highway speeds because it would be geared so high ?
i know that an engine must run at a certain rpm to be the most efficient. maybe this idea would make the rpm be too low (at highway speeds) and actually make fuel mileage worse.
    i don't know...it was just a thought i've had.

Good qustion the car would idle at 90 miles an hour 6 speed with 2 speed rear .Or an over drive with two speed rearend.........

I was the beneficary of that PF score, built up the '41 Columbia and have been running it for a year or so in the Deuce in my avatar. I am very happy with my purchase, but only a couple of pieces were actually NOS, the rest was used, most good, some not.

I love it, makes the flathead very comfortable at highway speeds.

First you have my favorite car on the HAMB, then I find out it has a Colombia. It's getting better all the time!
