Do you use welding rod to mock up the lines?

Last night we ****oned up the brakes. My Brother came over and helped me bleed em. Chased a couple leaks (like usual) but I think I have em all now. Pedal feels nice, the MC locating kit I got from the Early Ford Garage works great and is super easy to install.

My buddy Mike stopped by as well, and offered to shorten the shock links for me...Thanks Mike!!!!

I gotta finish the bearings and seals on the rear drums, then it should be time for the first shake down run...stay tuned!!!!!

Tonight was a mile stone, took her for a spin! But not without drama...I bolted the rear drums up and grabbed the tires/wheels...started snuggin them up and then realized that the shoulder on the stud is too long and the nut bottoms out before the wheels are tight.

These are new drums that I got a super good deal on, None were ever used but the rears had the hubs installed. Guess they used the wrong studs. Oh well, easy fix. But for the time being I put some others on that my Brother had.

She did pretty good. Needs some tunning and we never adjusted the brakes in the back to the different drums so they were a little weak...but it made our night as we drove up to the gas station to put some fuel in her!! Tomorrow she is off to Logan's for some much needed body work :D

Looks awesome Chris! Not sure if yours is the same problem but my lugnuts bottomed out on the stud shoulder. I ended up using oversized lugnuts from Speedway and they ****ed up tight.

Are you bringing it to Roundup?

Got the car over to my buddy Logan's today. Like mentioned earlier he is going to help me with the patch panels. Here's his last car:

    And his current roadster:

Anyways, so I know it's in good hands :D

I pulled it in his garage and jacked it up removing the rear end. I plan on installing 3:54 gears in it and figured while she's down I may as well do that. I also stripped some other odds and ends to have plated. The updates may slow down for a bit while it's over there but I'll update when I can.

Funny thing is everyone has asked me what color I want it, and I reply I do not know yet, the car has not told me. Well, today while under it it stuck me. I never really looked at the color under the floor until today. I am ***uming the car was going to be maroon and so they painted the bottom of the floor. I love maroon on cars so it seemed like a good choice once the car pointed it out ;)

Heres the rear end at home after cleaning dust off of it. Should be an easy task of gear swapping

Logan also had this 1950 HRM which featured this roadster I have never seen. Logan had two copys of it so he gave me one...coincidence? I think not!!

I know this is totally unrelated to the task at hand, but would you know or be able to find out what intake that is on Logan's coupe? Thanks.

  27. Great progress and milestone.
    maroon with cream/ivory accents/striping
would give it a real 40's vibe.

We all know you took the rear end to disable the car so Logan wouldn't be driving it around!
Nice looking roadster by the way!
