    Interesting.
Since we are on music, can anyone direct me to a song I]ve been looking for -- I heard it on the radio around December 1985 in Phoenix,,, "we drive by night" I think it was...
Who did it? Is it on youtube?

  8. I believe another Sadies video "Horseshoe" is included on the "Tales of the Rat Fink" DVD if any of you are interested.

When you turn on the TV today, you see hundreds of commercials done by six figure marketing MBAs that seriously can't do any better than to copy what others have done and make sure every politically correct point of the week has been covered......then you see the latest sitcom based on lines that were done 40 years ago......and the latest unreality show of the week, following the American Chopper format to the "T".............It makes you think that artistic creativity has become a distant memory.

I think that something like this is more impressive these days than ever. Maybe the whole world really hasn't been taken over by smart phone drones.

Excellent film, and yeah, the Sadies are great!

Nice piece but that Fordor roadster pickup doesn't have a rumble seat though I can see a modern kid thinking that was one rather than an upholstered pickup bed.
"XKSS" Jag?? That is an E-type jag, the SS was a full tilt racecar with a fin in the back.

  16. No, that was an XKSS Jag mate, there was the street version and a race version of those cars. The D-Type was the car you are thinking of, basically an XKSS with the fin and no windscreen.
Sadly the Jag was by far the best thing in the whole thing!!

    Doc.

If this is what p***es as "cool" on the H.A.M.B., then I'm way too old for it. Are you kidding me? A cartoon rat rod and no real music? Get real guys. This is a "Traditional hot rod site". This ****s!

    Hey guys,
    1) it IS an XKSS. I meant it to be like the one Steve McQueen drove. I got the idea after seeing it at the Petersen.
    2) the "rumbleseat" is a metaphor, though technically in the film it's a flat bed. Everyone's a critic!
    3) the Sadies are indeed real music, Tubman. Ed Roth himself loved them and was glad to have them score "Tales of The Rat Fink" right before he died. But to each his own.

And Rick sis, very much appreciate the kind words!

Thanks for posting guys. The Other Sadies vid I did years ago mentioned above is here:https://vimeo.com/9002650

Maybe I am missing something here but it looked like speed racer driving down memory lane on their way to the retirement center with his crew. The car is missing the number (5) and like some of our cars it has had a few miles put on it.

What a coincidence! Someone just has to share a video with his 'brethren' and by sheer luck the maker of that short shows up on the HAMB on the SAME day! Awesome!

The music is a bit of a yawn but the graphics were great (since we're sharing). Is this the same guy who's been making those great Gorillaz videos (Jamie Hewlett) for the past decade? If not, the style is a dead on tribute.

And how was the rumble seat a metaphor? Not being snarky, would just like to understand.

I'd like to understand what it is you think is a coincidence. Yeah it made an impression on me. I thought it was creative and original and thought it would strike a cord with you fellas as well. If not oh well. I think it's pretty rude to criticize someone elses work that they've obviously put a lot of time and effort into especially when it should appeal to most on this great forum. My apologies for not posting in the art section, like I said it wouldn't let me for some reason and it wasn't going to stop me from trying to spread it at all. These little treasures of honest creativity are few and far between these days and if people on this forum can't appreciate that, then I guess the world is ****ed. And beau, I try to keep my Internet banter toned down as if I were talking to people in the real world, and in my opinion, that snarky at***ude wouldn't get you far in person.

Coincidence: the occurrence of events that happen at the same time by accident but seem to have some connection.

I liked the video and asked if it came from the same video maker as the Gorillaz videos.

A different poster questioned the ***le, the auteur said that rumble seat was a metaphor. I didn't get it and asked how. I even stated I wasn't being snarky. Legitimate question.

You seem to be a pretty sensitive fella. Anytime one creates something (literature, paintings, videos...cars...) and puts it out there for display and approval, they should be ready for and tolerant to the possibility that the reaction may not be what was expected. And this is the HAMB for God's sake. You ever been here before? Some kind of at***ude is required to be here.

    Have a nice Easter
