Hello everybody, thanks for this message board. My name is B.A. and I an officially an old fart. I am into old Fords, but truly appreciate about any and everything. I am fortunate to live in a part of the world where I can actually see original, real McCoy type runners. There is a lot of history around me. My favorite movie of all time is Thunder Road. The opening sequence grabbed me when I was a kid and it still holds onto me. I am hoping to learn from some of the more experienced, older, wiser bunch who are willing to teach me while the brain cells are still functioning somewhat. The older I get, the more history becomes fascinating to me and I want to do a small part preserving that history and p***ing it down to others.
AutoArt66, Yeah I 've got the mordern version of Henry'sT, better known as a Mustang. It is temporarily stored in another garage, while the drivetrain is being refurbished. My parents bought a black on black 63 XL boxtop with 390 and fourspeed when I was a most impressionable kid. That was the car that hooked me and reeled me in. I loved the interior with all its fancy trim. If I were ever to win the lottery, I will buy one. But I like 55,56,57's with a dressed up Y block, and would be proud to care for a 39 or 40. Dad had a 34 when he was a kid, painted blue with cream wheels. That would have been sweet to have kept in the family, but he wrecked it on bald tires and in a rainstorm right before WW2 broke out. It was sold and traded, as it was just another used car and financially, times were tough as this was after a decade of economic depression.
Hello from the west coast of Florida. Sounds like another interesting collection of cars. Post of a few shots when you get some time. What part of the S.E. are you living in? Stay young forever Jimbo
Jimbo, I am from North Carolina. It seems like a few of us from the ole north state have joined up here lately.
