Who do you suppose would win?......... Well, looking at the damage from one shot to the back, I could imagine what a few more would have done. Dont worry, it was an accident, and the owner was almost sick when it happened. I figured I would post up some pictures showing how the repair was made, and maybe if will give a little faith to others tackling some majorly bent sheetmetal. Its not a super technical in depth article, but you can see the progression from start to middle and then the finish of the job. The interior braces had to be straightened as well as some repairs made to the rear window wood frame. Main tools used in the repair were....Porta Power, BFH (big hammer), Hammer and Dolly, Torch and Shrinking Disc. Followed up by a little body work and some primer. We are looking to post up some more projects, repairs, etc. If you have anything in particular that you want to see, post it up, pm, email, whatever works, and if we will keep it in mind for future postings. Other current and finished projects can be seen at http://www.siebertcustom.com
LOL, yeah, I figured it might stir up a few people. Just in case, we better ad this.... No Intentional harm done to any Model A's in the filming of this forum post! Thanks, it turned out pretty good, I am happy with the repair. Now I think we just need to find a different parking spot for the loader.
I would have told the customer he could save some money if he'd let you cut the worst 4 inches from those kinked panels.
