im tryin to think of wheel treatments for my ford and i mean my number one choices are radirs or astros but i dont have the money especially cuz im buyin another car monday so i figure ill work with what i got so has anyone ever seen a set of steelies metalflaked, i figure it would work fine and i think it might look cool opinions? -dan
your dad is probably right! hahaha seriously,,it probabably wouldnt look very good..what kind of car and what color is it right now???
im thinkin about flaking the roof red i have all the trim for under the windows to separate the black and red and i mean like i said i want astros or radirs but dont have the moola im just tryin to think of things i havent seen before -dan
I've seen it, and have a set done myself. I think they look good! But if you want it to come out right you need to paint them as you would your roof!
yeah i would want them as close as possible you got any pics rusty? i think flakes and spiders would be *****en -dan
Hammertone Copper. At least that is what I want to try. Spraycan style. Wally world or Home Depot have it.
they look bad ***, but to do it right it would involve some work. same processes as painting your car or roof. spraying metallic is a little bit more difficult too. you will need the larger nozzle in your gun (can't think of the number right now) and you will need to use a slower reducer than normal so that the flakes can lay down before drying in the clear.
well,,i see your point,,,anything would look BETTER than the black primmer and red wheels you have going on right now,,,it LOOKS GREAT,,but the whole red&flat black thing is way over done.... ..how about just rattle canning the wheels gloss black for now...and lowering it???.. ..then a FLATENED metalic blue or burgandy coating on the body and pop for some WIDE WHITES...????? ...INSTANT RULER!!!!!!
As boring as it may sound to you, i gotta agree with **** on the gloss black rim's and wide whites. Dat Dirty Rat had a black 55 chevy and on that he had a set of Og. rims powdercoated gloss black and threw on some nice wide white's. The look was GREAT! VERY simple and really stood out. If you wanted to ****e it up some if you did go gloss black, you could also start searching for a set of the Cal Custom inner trim ring's (the one's that go on the lip a small hub cap use). The're hard to find, but would really add a lot. I also think the flat blue would look pretty damn nice too.
That is Omni Cherry blosson White base clear, covered with red, gold and silver flake. Pics dont do it justice, at night under streetlights it looks like freshly fallen snow. That Zip file is weird, it work for you guys? Works here.....
a few months back i asked someone to photoshop my car in burgundy and a few other colors and i had already thought about that wheel option except i like the pinner whites and they were free and they are unused ive been rolling around the idea of black rims and the old spieder caps trim ring ( i didnt know existed till i saw the Jesse Jmaes black 54) i do know one thing and this car wont see the road how it looks now thanks for the input fellows -dan
When i was a kid my dad had an early Ford that had stock rims that were slightly flaked w/trim rings...it was pretty kool i thought and stuck with me over the years...When i started driving my 1st car wich was a unmolested bone stock 62 Chevy II that i pulled the caps off and shot the stock rims black w/skinny whites...I ended up picking up a 63 for a daily driver...I flaked the stock rims on that but didnt like the look on that car...So they got painted black as well....I plan on doing the same on the 54 if I keep it and run the set of Cal Custom center trim rings that i've been waiting for ages to put on something kool....I have seen it done but not in a long time...Esp around where i live its nothing but Muscle cars & strretrodders....So i would do it just to be different.
Guys would lay down a base coat of white, then fog a kandy color over it and run spiders or chrome lug nuts and Shannon cones. I guess this could work w/ flake if you laid down the flake, then fogged in kandy, then cleared over it. Sounds kind of busy though.
