Yes i buy them, think they look great to my 32 5w racer i build in early 50s style . But it have be very fun to know where they have whas in the first life They looks WW II but i dont know mutch about Aircraft history.
Yeah, I saw those, too. What are you going to do for bottoms? For some inspiration, here are mine, where I constructed the bottoms from wood (and some sheet metal). Since this picture was taken, I installed some leather covered seat pads. My backs are from two driver's seats from an old Dodge M-37 Army truck. It would be nice to know what yours are from, but since the bottoms are missing, it might be hard to define. Have fun with them.
Hello! Nice seats you have there. I have plans to put aluminum there like other bomberseats . I have a channalled chop 5w so i need low profile I hope here are someone can se what it is from, maybe put in more pictures from othere sides .
This is going to be a tough one, seats were not an exact standard in each type of bomber through WWII. They would be different as per manufacturer, so we can have two identical aircraft built at different plants and they would have many subtle differences, in this case seats. (Hope that makes at least some sense.) Your best bet is to try on a web site dedicated to WWII aircraft and restoration. Try http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/ for starters, it's a forum like the HAMB only dedicated to WWII Aircraft. Doc.
Looks like they are from a interior with many seats .he have more of them and they looks just like this . But i am not sure yet what year they are from.
Have you found anything out about the seats yet? Looking closer, they appear to have been upholstered at one stage. Are the self tapping screws all the same or do they appear to be unoriginal? Also, can you make out what the remaining material sandwiched there is? Some closer pics of the back and the sides showing the lip on both the inside and outside lips would be help full. Can I ask where they were purchased from, it could help (Hopefully they were sold from their country of origin). Both the design and the green zinc chromate paint points to them being from a US aircraft of the WWII period. Most country's at that time used different green to grey shades that time so it would help to narrow the search field. Well, again good luck with the search. Doc.
I have buy the seats from United States .The screws looks original . Yes i take some pictures on the seats this weekend and put in here when i have them . Thanks. Jan
B-24 or not, they're cool! I'd dig finding something like the one in this P-38L i measured a few years back... slots for seat & shoulder harness, recess for chute (cushion in our case)... fun stuff!
