My 22ft. dove tail trailer and 1955 Chrysler Imperial were stolen Frm my shop on 4/9/12 Tuesday morning between 12am -6am. The Police wouldn't report it as stolen until I furnish them a VIN. There were great tracks of the vehicle that stole it along with footprints but the police don't care. Cops just want a check. I just lost 4000.00 on that venture. I'm really pissed off but what can do about it. I need to be a thief its more profitable than hard work. But I have a GOD of my understanding and he doesnt look to kindly upon thiefs. This was stolen in Little Rock ,Arkansas- I 'll attach pics later.

Oldwood, I'll keep an eye out. If the trailer was registered, the cops can get the V.I.N. by having ACIC run a search on whoever's name the trailer's registered in.
They should do a report regardless, but the VIN is what lets us enter it in the nationwide database as stolen. Maybe that's what they meant by saying they couldn't "report" it as stolen. As far as the prints, I'd have taken pics of them, but it'll be hard to match up anything without a suspect in mind to compare to........ Best of luck my friend. This sucks.

Mods, can we get a sticky?

Hopefully you had the trailer and/or car insured...

Hearing this makes me sick to my stomach and lose further faith in humanity.

Photo (s) of the car and Photos and maybe a better description of the trailer? It probably won't end up out here but guys need to know what they are actually watching out for in Arkansas and surrounding states.

In those deals you never know if they are after the car or the trailer or in this case the engine that may or may not be in the car.

I'm thinking that some sticky fingered guy within probably 50 miles of you may have nabbed the car for the engine this time around. Or the car will be found dumped as they were after the trailer but I'd think they would have dumped the car right there and just take the trailer in that case.

will keep a sharp look out up here also, there is a sign at my shop stating ,there is nothing here worth losing your life over. latley things that go missing in the nite usually end up at the scrap yard, check there first, good luck, theives have no values only to make a fast buck at our expence

  17. Wierd. But given the looks of the car the first place I'd go is every scrapyard within 100 miles, as rough as it is I've seen nicer ones get shredded whole. So it's probably gone now.

years ago ,you could leave things out in plain site, leave your doors unlocked, but these days you cant, we live a mile from my nearest neighbor, pretty seculed, making me an easy target, now we have cameras, dogs and things are in plain site. dont mean to rant but if theres any thing that pisses me off is a theif, if i have something you want or need ,just ask, but dont help your self

Stolen 4/19/12 Recovered 2/10/14 I got a phone call from a man keeping an eye out on some property that I have cars stored on. He called to inform me that a truck had been stolen sometime in the early morning. I drove to this location and found tracks and skid marks of it being dragged off. The sheriff and I followed the trail @ 4 miles to a house trailer where we found the wheels but no truck. They found an individual in the house trailer and he left wearing silver bracelets. I was standing there waiting on CSI detectives when I noticed a black car hauling trailer next door to this property, I walk over to it thinking this trailer looks familiar. I looked it over and found the VIN had been removed and the name had been painted over. I had this trailer special made in TX to haul '50-'60 Chryslers on. I told the sheriff making the report on the stolen truck and had Little Rock police call his office with my police report from 2 yrs prior. A friend of mine showed up and also verified that this was my trailer. The man had fictitious tags on it and could not prove ownership as he had bought it from the MAC tool man. The MAC man said he bought it from... Long story short is that the trailer is back home with NEW TIRES and wiring harness. My GOD work in mysterious ways. It will have insurance tomorrow. Ya never know when and where you'll find YOUR stuff in someone's yard.

Great you got the trailer back. I'm guessing the Imperial is long gone? Shame if that's what happened, but still a better ending than nothing at all.

That trailer cost me @ $2800 new. Imperial was long gone. To find this trailer was too weird. The story of the MAC tool man and the man where i found it, who knows the real story or truth. I'm glad to have it back and not having to borrow a trailer. I typed all of this out to give hope to others who are going through the same thing or worse.

Something is surely better than nothing but it's a darn shame you lost the car! Glad you retrieved the trailer!

I'm still in SHOCK. I can't wrap my head around it. I'm following a skid mark from a tire that is locked up for 3 or 4 miles and we locate where they took it to. So I'm standing there watching the cops do their report and I glance to the neighbors yard and see the tongue of this trailer. What made me take notice of it was the stencil painting that the Mfg. had painted on it. The closer I got to it the more I realized it was mine. I knew it was mine when I found the name of the trailer had been painted over along and the VIN tag removed. I'm hoping the cops research this theft more but I'm not holding my breath. I can't describe what I'm feeling right now.

  29. Good on ya for getting your trailer back! Anymore, it takes the work of the victim and NOT the cops to get things set right.

  30. What an idiot. So where is the truck he stole? That gone too?
