    Hey, ya'll..

I'm getting ready to start welding in my S-10 front frame clip to my Shoebox frame. I have not removed the springs yet from the S-10, but have measured wheel height, bottom of shoebox frame height, and thought somebody might go measure YOUR rod's bumper clearance.

I realize that when "loaded", the A-frames on the s-10 will/should be approximately horizontal. When I "project" some measurements, it appears that there will only be about 1.5" to a maximum of 2" clearance on the rubber bumpers on the A-frames.

    Is that what ya'll have?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, it appears I got buried by all the goofy posts about such things as "show me a picture of your mama'a car" type postings that do nothing for the legitimate Q & A's that I thought it website was created for.

Does anybody know of other websites that truly stay on subject?

    Thanks, C.:

I had already reviewed/printed that link, and it's great... But the original question is: how much clearance is there between the frame and the rubber bumper on the A-frame?

    Thanks again..

It ain't much, if I recall correctly. Remember how far up the arm the bumper is? While there might not be much travel there, there is more out at the wheel, which is MUCH farther from the pivot. Here's one we did recently:

Thanks! We're a little nutty down at the shop. We tend to do finish quality work on everything.

hmmm... it must be an optical illusion, then, 'cause it looks like that bracket for the clutch pivot is about 3 feet from the weld joint, and I don't see any body mount brackets in front of that pivot point.....

    Oh, well, it doesn't matter...

When I get done with mine, it will NOT be as good lookin', though....

Just went out and checked.Top a frame bumper is about 2" above the frame.Lower bumper not so much on mine, about 1" below. I did however remove 1/2 a coil though.

The picture is stretched. Not sure how that happened. The mounts are on the bench, waiting to get re-created.
