If your from MN you know the car show, the Gopher State Timing ***c 56th annual rod and custom spectacular. because the world of wheels didnt happen this year the show should be a great one, i heard they had to turn down 30 cars, so they had the pic of some neat stuff. Im putting the 2 survivor hot rods ive been working on the last couple months in the show and Bull is going to have his sedan there also and our freind Luke is going to have his 55 buick the show too, The Stich ***** just finished the Interior in the Buick about a month ago and is in the midst of Bulls sedans interior. Come check em out, its a neat indoor show, kinda one of the last real indoor shows around our are, always a good time. JEFF
bump for the day crew. heres another car Jen did the upholstery in that will be at the show, this is when it got dropped off.
Absolutely over the moon excited. Can't wait to see my baby dressed to the nines in tuck & roll by stich*****!
I will be there all weekend starting with Fri's set up. I'll be the one with way more 1:18 cars than anyone would need. Stop by on the outer ring and say hi?
I was hoping those 2 deuces would make it into the show! I'm gonna try to sneak down there Saturday AM.
I stopped by on Monday and got a early peek at the 32's. The photos do not do them justice!!!! You gotta see them in person. It would be very hard to fake a resto rod to look like they do. Hope I make it back home in time to go to the show Bill
There is supposed to be over 20 different 32's at the show, at least 1 of each body style was the goal and I'm told they did do that. Heading out in about an hour to go set up the little 32's. Also bringing an oil painting of a '32 that my son's girlfriend did. She's willing to do "your" car too... I love this show. The smell of wax, rubber, and fuel, can't wait.
That blue tudor is hot-hot-hot. Best wishes for a great event, wish I was able to be there. Your grill display piece is F'n hot. Kick some booty dudes. partsdawg, hanging out and hearing the rides leave the show is cool, good duty bro. ~sololobo~
Jeff, that was a very kind and generous thing you did preparing and showing the hot rods for those two elderly owners.
Louie was over the moon excited. It was fun watching him show people his old b & w photos. I wish Ed could of made it.
Saw Louie walking around with Jeff on Saturday AM. He sure looked happy!! Has he still been involved in the car scene all these years, or is he finally able to be getting back? How about Ed? Or are they both guys who are just finally able to enjoy the car they were always going to fix up "some day"
Both "some day" guys. Also Louies buddy Gordy had a great time at the show, i got his wheels spinning about building himself a car again. jeff
As I watched Gordy walk around and around the car I was curious if he'd ever get another one. Glad you got him thinkin.
Heck their not elderly, their vintage ! Outstanding job Jeff. This is what it's all about and for the kids that want to build a car like it was built in the 50's it doesn't get any better than these two for examples. Stay after Gordy, their "some day" days aren't as many as they used to be.
These are a perfect example of what more guys SHOULD do. HELP the old guy get the car back on the road rather than ***** that he won't sell it to you. I'm sure Jeff got paid to the most of the work, but I don't think these guys could have found a better place to take them. The fact that he ended up doing BOTH of them at the same time is just amazing. Jeff banked himself some MAJOR karma points doing these 2!!
What an amazing weekend. The caliber of cars at the show was outstanding. I am extremely honored to have been accepted to the show, but to have taken First Place in my cl*** is just beyond words. I am forever indebted to ***us at East Side Speed Shop and Stich***** of Upholstery by Stich***** for making a 23+ year dream a reality. Seeing the completed car for the first time with its gorgeous new tuck & roll on Friday evening nearly had me in tears. The car is incredible and I am totally beside myself with emotion about it. Happy doesn't even come close. Those who know me know the significance this car has in my life. This all coming together just shy of the 23rd anniversary of my last chemotherapy treatment on 4/17 is the icing on the cake. A few pics of the car from the show: The rest of my pics from the show can be seen here: http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k80/MNBullyBoy/Car Misc/GSTA 2012/
