This is also one of my favorite all time rods. Always wanted to build a copy of this.

In responce to Lynn`s So Cal plating inspired 36 Ford. I to was inspired by the So Cal Duvall Phaeton, when I built this 1937 Ford in 1994, was in American Rodder June 1995. The car is still on the road. Just finished the sequel to it a 1937 Ford 2 door Phaeton ( Hi-boy )

I just happened to watch a classic in class today.. It was Chinatown featuring Jack Nicholson. He drove a pretty sleek '36 Ford Phaeton. Of course, I was the only one in class to cringe when the farmer shot his radiator and it started spewing water, then the tire which popped and made him drive straight into a tree and smash up that gorgeous grille.

The Chinatown Pheaton was a 1935. Beautiful car.

It should have been a '36 phaeton with a DuVall windshield. Jake Gittes was too classy for a mere convertible sedan.

I think that's what made it all the more humiliating.

    Hey man!

Good to see you on this board!
    Greetings from invaby,

  21. This is still one of my favorites. I'd love to build it full scale. I've built a copy in black with a tan top that graces the cabinet over my toilet so I can look at it when nature calls.

Didn't expect to see the tub I bought from Mel (DirtiestDevil) in here, but it is definitely a righteous old phaeton. Personality plus. It went to Indiana. Hope it turns up again some time.

That's my 32 phaeton , the grill is 32 desoto, it took me 14 years to talk my buddy out of the grill, the body i got from Fat Jack Robinson, it sat in his barn for many years, I am going try to get the upholstery done this year.
